Description: This position is with our Advanced Development Programs known as the Skunk Works. This is a full-time technical engineering position for the Virtual Prototyping group. The Virtual Prototyping group is an advanced visualization provider of Modeling and Simulation (M&S) services and solutions to Lockheed Martin Corporation and its customers worldwide. Through the power of advanced visualization, Virtual Prototyping helps people understand complex systems and ideas by “bringing concepts to life,” allowing for better, faster decision making and, ultimately, assisting programs in winning new business and performing on existing programs. From conceptual design to sustainment, Virtual Prototyping provides discriminating technologies to support the complete product life cycle that articulate information using simulation, visualization, virtual collaboration, human computer interfaces, and synthetic real-time environments. These capabilities save time, reduce costs and risks, improve quality, and enhance safety by increasing product and process understanding. The group provides unique capabilities and tailored solutions through product visualization, manufacturing simulation, serious games applications, vehicle simulation, operational awareness, virtual training, maintainability & sustainment operations, virtual & augmented reality, battle space visualization, continuous improvement efforts, facilities development, and much more.

This engineering position requires having a strong and diverse technical background being able to develop, integrate, and apply various modeling and simulation technologies/methods in the fields of advanced visualization, simulation, and human computer interfaces. Individual must be able to learn and quickly pickup technical concepts and software applications in effort to apply them to meet demanding program requirements. Candidate needs to have programming (i.e. C++, C#, Java, .net, XML, Python, etc.) experience for application development and integration. This position will have a particular focus on Augmented (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) application development and the creation of dynamic user experiences. The candidate will be required to work with the Virtual Prototyping team and its customers to provide unique virtual interactive experiences across the full product life cycle from conceptual design, engineering, manufacturing, through sustainment. The candidate will also be perform fundamental research and development (R&D) tasks.

The candidate will be providing technical leadership in various AR and VR tasks. The candidate needs to have leadership and project management skills, the ability to establish/maintain positive and effective professional relationships with remotely located team members, cross functional organizations, and leadership across all LM-Aero locations. Individual we need to be able to promote and socialize Virtual Prototyping capabilities to establish new work opportunities. The candidate should have excellent communication skills, be a self-starter, be able to multi-task in a time critical environment working well under pressure and make effective oral and written presentations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Basic Qualifications:

(1) Experience with real-time 3D tools / CAD; (2) Basic coding experience; (3) Augmented and Virtual Reality development experience; (4) IT server and system administration; (5) Manufacturing environment experience.

Desired Skills:

(1) Specific experience with gaming technologies such as Unreal, CryEngine, and Unity; (2) Web based programming (i.e. HTML5, SQL, CSS, ASP, Ajax, WebGL, etc.); (3) Experience with programming languages including C++, C#, .net, VB, XML, Perl, etc. (4) Manufacturing simulation tool experience such as DELMIA, Plant Simulate, ProModel, etc. (5) 3D work instruction tools such as Lattice, Teamcenter Visualization, Creo Illustrate, Composer, etc.
