Lockheed Martin Artificial Intelligence Senior Manager in Fort Worth, Texas

Description: As an AI Senior Manager at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, you will lead a fast-moving team of AI/ML engineers and managers to develop and deliver autonomy, AI and machine learning algorithms for Lockheed Martin products and platforms. You will work closely with your team to develop a competency plan and talent pipelines across a broad range of AI/ML technologies including but not limited to Natural Language Processing, Supervised /Unsupervised /Reinforcement Learning, Computer Vision, and Data Science.

You will be representing Lockheed Martin Aeronautics to a wide range of stakeholders internally as well as externally. The position will be expected to coordinate across multiple lines of business and business areas to maximize reuse and commonize processes and products. This position has the potential to impact several large programs at Aero and across the corporation, providing excellent exposure and opportunities for growth and development.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Develop a clear vision and execute a strategic plan to build world-class AI competencies for LM Aeronautics platforms and products, in alignment with both the Aeronautics and the Lockheed Martin AI Center (LAIC) vision and strategy.

2. Identify and execute on AI opportunities with LM Aeronautics program teams and manage the transition of AI/ML products and capabilities into large scale air and ground systems and to drive innovation and efficiency into LM Aeronautics processes.

3. Manage and develop the AI talent pipeline, including hiring, growth, skills, and training to create a world-class AI team.

4. Lead and support the development of the LM Aero AI Factory, including flexible development frameworks, pipelines, compute and technology, and AI transformation initiatives.

5. Oversee the development and implementation of AI algorithms, models, and applications, while ensuring that quality, performance, and security standards are met.

6. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify AI opportunities and develop solutions that address Aero needs.

7. Provide technical leadership and guidance on AI technologies, including machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision.

8. Establish and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to support AI initiatives and drive business growth.

9. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to inform strategic decision-making and drive innovation.

10. Commitment to ethical AI practices, including fairness, transparency, and accountability.

Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field

• Experience coordinating across multiple lines of business and/or companies

• Project Leadership or team lead experience

• Experience with software or AI/ML development

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Desired Skills:

• Advanced degree in AI/ML or related field

• Experience with transitioning AI solutions into products (concept to implementation)

• Strong understanding of AI technologies machine learning algorithms, and data science principles, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders including executives and clients.

• Understanding of the aerospace industry and its unique challenges and opportunities for AI integration.

• Experience in technology assessment and evaluation, with the ability to identify and recommend appropriate AI solutions for specific use cases.

• Experience with integration of hardware and software integration for AI systems

• Experience with Data Management strategies and Data Reuse methods for AI, Advanced Data Analytics

• Experience with Synthetic and Simulated environments for AI

• Background in R&D or similar programs

• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data and derive actionable insights.

• Understanding of the business environment, including market trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs.

• Proactive and excellent communication skills

• Strong leadership to inspire and guide teams, foster collaboration, and manage cross-functional projects. This includes conflict resolution and team-building abilities.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
