Textron Airborne Solutions provides training opportunities for military customers. The Director of Operations (DO) is a fighter pilot position required to fly in support of company Commercial Air Service demands and manage all flight operations conducted in or originating from the designated area of responsibility (AOR) to include direct customer interface support.
The DO will report to the Vice President of ATAC ACE and receive direction from, the ACE Director of Flight Operations in order to ensure customer and company operational requirements are achieved in support of all flying activities within the designated AOR. Scope of work includes providing direct customer interface in order to support and schedule all contract requirements, liaise with local and regional authorities for airspace and airfield requirements, and coordinate with the Maintenance Manager for all aircrew and aircraft utilization regarding ground and flight requirements. Additionally, the DO will interface with functional leaders at headquarters when required.
Required to contribute as an operationally active fighter pilot within ATAC
Responsible for the oversight of all flying activities within designated AOR
Responsible for managing, logging, recording, and budgeting hourly aircraft requirement within respective AOR through coordination with the ACE Program Manager
Responsible for generating and maintaining a Long-Range Operational Calendar
Responsible to collect, generate and submit all required reports to the DFO
Responsible for utilization of all aircrew operating within or originating from respective AOR
Responsible for the oversight of all assigned staff
Responsible for adherence to the Flight Operations Manual, In Flight Guides, applicable General Operating Procedures, local and regional authority requirements and report any deviations or concerns to the DFO, Chief Pilot, and Vice President
Responsible for all operational flight scheduling with respective AOR
Liaise with all host airfield leadership as required
Liaise with all operational related subcontractors
Coordinate with the ACE Training Officer, Chief of Standardization, Scheduling Manager as well as other regional DO’s when required and receive guidance from the Chief Pilot and the Safety Manager.
Responsible for coordinating all pilot training within respective AOR with the DFO
Must review After Action Reports for each detachment/exercise within respective AOR and provide recommendations to the DFO and Vice President
When required, provide input for all revisions and changes to flight related policy and procedures (FOM’s, related GOP’s, aircraft Flight Manual and Pilot Checklists)
Additional duties as assigned by the Vice President

Minimum of 5 years as Operational pilot in support of tactical operations
10 years of prior Military Fighter Experience
5 years prior Supervisory/Management experience
Bachelor’s Degree required
Post command experience desired
Command experience preferred
Must be able to foster and develop a strong team environment
Adversary/Aggressor operational experience preferred
Must maintain a security clearance
Clear written and verbal communications
Ability to Organize and write procedures in a logical/methodical manner
Excellent time management skills
Excellent attention to detail
