Lockheed Martin Lead Engineer, F-35 Quality (Level 4) in Fort Worth, Texas

Description: We are Lockheed Martin

This position will report to the Quality Manager of F-35 Delivery Operations with responsibility for supporting F-35 Product-Quality activities to support the following build areas: Aircraft Finishing Facility (AFF), Acceptance Test Facility (ATF), Fuel Test Facility (FTF), Ground Operations, Flight Operations (including the Debrief process), DD-250 (artifact collection and aircraft preparation stage for sale to USG), and Ferry (delivery to customers around the Globe).

Specific responsibilities include:

• Provide timely, responsive, and exceptional quality engineering capabilities to support delivery operations activities throughout the entire build process spanning multiple production directorates and cross functional teams.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of five Quality Engineers maintaining the highest level of quality and safety throughout the program.

• Build and maintain professional working relationships with teams across the F-35 program including Production, Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), multiple Engineering Teams, the Aircraft Delivery Team (ADT), and Quality and Mission Success (Q&MS) colleagues.

• Identify and pursue opportunities for process and product improvement across build areas primarily focusing on Root Cause and Corrective Action activities.

• Support Action Requests (AR) from field customers, Corrective Action Request (CAR) and Internal Corrective Actions (ICA) activities to address product nonconformances, Lost Tools and FOD incidents.

• Manage quality performance metrics.

This position is in Fort Worth, TX Discover Fort Worth.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in STEM field.

• 9+ years of aviation manufacturing, production and/or flightline operations experience.

• Excellent interpersonal skills needed for collaboration, communication, and executive-level presentations.

• Experience with Product-Quality methods either from the quality, manufacturing, or production perspective.

• Experience with information solutions including Automated Logistics Information System (ALIS), Shop Floor Manager (SFM), Product Data Management (PDM), Quality Assurance Documentation System (QADS), or similar systems.

• Ability to effectively navigate complex product and process-related requirements to validate nonconformances and develop corrective actions in coordination with DCMA and Production colleagues.

• Experience working with Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA).

• In depth understanding of statistical and data analytic skills.

• Experience with data analytic/dashboard creation (e.g., Minitab, Tableau, and Business Objects).

• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications for development of quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for inspection and test of manufactured products.

• An understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

• Understanding in AS9100D and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.

• Experience with Microsoft Office Systems.

Desired Skills:

• Master’s degree in STEM field.

• Experience with AS9100D compliance audits.

• Experience in leading a team of Quality Engineers.

• Six Sigma Green Belt Trained and/or Certified.

• Conduct/coordinate process and product evaluations and assessments.

• F-35 production operations experience.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
