Job Description:

The Marketing Communications Team is in place to support the growth strategies of SPM Oil & Gas, A Caterpillar Company. As the division continues to grow, the support requirements become more robust in nature including both internal and external communication programs. These include, but are not limited to, global advertising and marketing, multiple major tradeshows, online programs (such as website maintenance), supporting local business growth, employee lifecycle programs and supporting investor relations communications for The Weir Group. Due to this rapid growth, the team (of 1) is in need of support to manage and execute some of the projects within the programs listed as well as coordinate with third party vendors in support of the existing team. At this time the support is only needed part time.

Job Duties Including but not limited to:

  • The employee will manage communication requests that support the ongoing integration of SPM Oil & Gas to Caterpillar. Managing includes planning, copyediting and overall ownership of the project while keeping the marketing team fully up to date. The project could include formatting, graphic design and Outlook experience.

  • Managing and verifying the address, locations and information converted on external platforms such as Google as well as updating all images with the support of a third party.

  • The employee will maintain, update, organize and develop employee resources on SharePoint and intranet. Items extend to marketing materials and images.

  • The employee will maintain the internal and external social media calendar including working with third party suppliers to deliver artwork, and working with internal parties to develop copy.

  • Manage projects as related to the progress of integration.

  • Administrative assistance as needed.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: BBA in Marketing or BAA in Communications, at least 1 year(s) experience in marketing communications, the candidate will need to provide examples of writing capabilities or creative projects or programs they have executed in their experience.



The incumbent should be able to strategically approach marketing communication campaigns as well as execute the project. This would include planning the program, defining a budget and timeline, developing measurement tools for the programs success as well as doing “the work” to get the job done.
