Position Description

What does a Mainframe Developer do?

You can look forward to work in a team- looking for a passionate Software Developer to join their application delivery team that builds high-quality software and delivers innovative solutions for their customers. You will work in a fast paced, collaborative environment. You will join as a core member of Credit agile team that designs and develops software applications.

You are the kind of person who will have:

  • Ability to evaluate new technologies, stay current with a broad range of industry trend

  • Good analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to track progress against assigned tasks, report status, and proactively identifies issues. Good at prioritizing tasks to meet daily commitments.

  • Participate in code reviews and code remediation, perform and develop proper unit tests and automation

  • Perform additional duties as determined by business needs and as directed by management.

  • Strong team player / customer service orientation. Demonstrated ability to work with both end users and technical staff.

  • Demonstrate the ability to present information effectively in communications with peers and project management

  • Prepare any necessary technical documentation

  • Financial industry experiences a plus.

Basic qualifications for consideration:

  • BS degree in Computer Science or 10 years of equivalent experience

  • 7+ years of experience in requirements analysis, Mainframe design, coding and unit testing of scalable, n-tier, fault-tolerant applications

  • 5+ years of Mainframe development background with exposure to legacy modernization

  • 2+ years of Test Driven Development in Mainframe and a proven ability to write test harnesses to facilitate continuous integration

  • Accustomed to continuous integration and continuous deployment frameworks on Mainframe

  • Prior experience with:

JCL, COBOL, CICS, VSAM, IDz, zUnit, USS, JAVA on Mainframe

Preferred qualifications for consideration:

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and debugging skills

  • Excellent understanding of ALM

  • Prior experience in SOAP and RESTFul Web Services

  • Able to work independently and multi-task

  • VisionPLUS experience preferred

  • Knowledge of scripting languages like Rexx, Clist or ISPF Macros

  • Able to explain technical information in non-technical terms

  • Able to work in a team environment, with internal and external customers

  • Able to conduct multi-channel communications (email, phone, chat, and in-person) clearly and courteously with both external and internal customers corporations/teams

Travel Required: 10% if based at Lake Mary, 20% if based at other locations
