For more information, visit amwater.com and join American Water on LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. _ Primary Role_ Responsible for organizing and performing advanced functions and activities related to ensuring that our wastewater facilities are in compliance with the monitoring and reporting requirements of Illinois EPA. Primary focus is on compliance with the influent and effluent limitations, monitoring, and reporting. _ Key Accountabilities_ * Manage monitoring and reporting programs to ensure compliance with federal and state wastewater regulations. * Prepare, review, and maintain monitoring schedules. * Ensure compliance samples are collected within appropriate timeframes. * Track compliance with the limits outlined in the NPDES permit. * Ensure accuracy of results reporting. * Be a liaison between IL Water Quality staff and the labs we utilize to analyze our samples. * Support IL Water Quality by being a resource for wastewater compliance information, training, and troubleshooting. _ Knowledge/Skills_ * Knowledge of federal and state wastewater standards and regulations, wastewater treatment processes, and analytical testing principles is preferred. * Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office. * Good attention to detail. _ Experience/Education_ * Experience in water, wastewater, and laboratory operations preferred. * Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or related field – or 5-10 years in the water, wastewater or laboratory operations. _ Certifications & Licenses_ Valid Driver’s License. _ Work Environment_ Office environment. Can include occasional outdoor work and treatment plant environment. _ Travel Requirements_ Local and regional.
