Lockheed Martin Quality Engineer Sr - Grand Prairie, TX in Grand Prairie, Texas

Description: You will be the Quality Engineer Sr for the Precision Fires QA Development Group. Our team is responsible for leading and implementing advanced Quality Engineering initiatives within the Precision Fires Advanced Programs, supporting significant development programs with the potential to be franchise programs.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Quality Engineer Sr, you will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Program Management, Engineering, and Supply Chain, to ensure quality standards are met and implemented throughout the process. You will lead Quality Engineering initiatives, provide technical liaison support, and work closely with suppliers to ensure conformance to Lockheed Martin requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

-Performing product source inspections, first articles, and product validations at suppliers

-Providing internal and supplier support for root cause and corrective/preventive actions

-Supporting supplier requests and participating in failure/diagnosis and Material Review Board activities

-Conducting ongoing surveillance of supplier conformance to Lockheed Martin requirements and providing written weekly reports

-Creating proposals and BOEs, and providing technical liaison support related to quality engineering matters

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

-STEM degree at bachelor's level or higher or equivalent experience/combined education.

-Previous quality experience in developing and reviewing quality standards, methods, work instructions, and procedures

-Demonstrated understanding of audit techniques

-Thorough understanding of engineering requirements and inspection methods

-Ability to interpret drawings and specifications

-Experience with control and disposition of non-conforming Material (Material Review Board)

-Experience solving complex problems associated with the quality of products and in Quality Management processes / capable of performing root cause analysis and identifying solutions to complex problems

-Experience working with Government customers

-Proficient skill level with Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

-Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with Technical Operations, Manufacturing, and all other stakeholders

-Ability to travel to required inspection or delivery locations, ranging from day trips to multiple weeks (10+) up to 50%+.

-Ability to obtain a passport

-Ability to obtain a secret security clearance

Desired Skills:

-STEM degree at bachelor's level or higher preferred.

-Lean / Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification or ASQ Certified Quality Improvement Associate (CQIA)

-Practical interpersonal skills, including team building and collaboration

-Practical communication skills - written, oral, listening, and presentation

-Demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

-Strong problem-solving skills

-SAP / ERP, SharePoint Tableau, or other business intelligence software experience

-Strong familiarity with Production Operations

-Experience with Program Office / Customer Interaction, preferably DOD

-An understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

-Experience with source inspection and surveillance activities at suppliers (including acceptance of product/testing)

-Thorough understanding of AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems as well as AS9145 Advanced Product Quality Planning

-Experience with the use of inspection gages and measuring equipment

-Earned Value Management System Cost Account Manager (EVMS CAM) certification

-Familiar with requirements for handling and control of Government Furnished Equipment / Property during field, ground, or operational tests

-Ability to obtain an international driver's license

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
