Description:
You will be the IES Technical Publications Writer for our team. Our team is responsible for developing and delivering high-quality technical documentation that meets Military Specifications, ensuring seamless communication and knowledge transfer to our clients.
What You Will Be Doing
As the IES Technical Publications Writer, you will be responsible for creating a wide range of technical documents, including Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs), Depot Maintenance Work Requirements (DMWRs), and Repair Parts and Special Tools Lists (RPSTLs). Your role will be crucial in supporting our team's mission to provide accurate and timely technical documentation.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Developing and validating technical documents to Military Specifications
• Creating procedural art, illustrated graphics, and other visual aids to support technical documentation
• Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to verify technical concepts and ensure project completion
• Interpreting engineering drawings and software description documents
• Working flexibly to meet company and client needs, including occasional overtime and travel

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
• Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings, schematics
• 2-3 years of professional experience in technical writing
• Have or be able to obtain a Secret clearance
• Experience/working knowledge of the following:
• Extensible Markup Language (XML)
• Extensible Stylesheet Language Transformation (XSLT)
• MIL-STD-40051-1 and MIL-STD-40051-2 preferably Revision B
• MIL-STD-2361C or later release
• Arbortext Editor including Styler (5.4 or higher)
• UltraEdit or similar
• Adobe Acrobat Pro
• Content Management Systems such as WindChill
• Familiar with layout, design and structure of Organizational, Intermediate and Depot level Technical Manuals (TM’s)' including Operation and Maintenance, Theory of Operation, Fault Isolation Procedures, and Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPB’s).
• Ability to produce illustrations using graphics tools such as ISOdraw, Autrotrol or similar graphics tools
• Ability to acquire and verify content and illustrations by coordinating across Engineering Disciplines, observing production methods, referring to engineering drawings, notes, manuals, and similar publications.
• Ability to write using clear and concise language that adheres to customer-established standards and conventions.
• Ability to write technical content for maintenance technical manuals including installation, test, repair, and troubleshooting procedures.
Desired Skills:
• Experience with Electronics, Hydraulics and Mechanical Systems
• Experience with Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS)/ High
• Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS)
• Experience working with US Army or other Military publications
• Interactive Authoring and Display System (IADS) 4.0 or later
• Electronic Maintenance System (EMS) Next Generation (NG)
• Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering or related discipline
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $80,400 - $139,380. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $69,900 - $123,280. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
