Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

  • Maintain, repairs, and update of environmental chambers, vibration tables, autoclaves, and wave solder systems.

  • Responsible for the electrical, mechanical, heating and refrigeration parts of this equipment.

  • Works from prints, handbooks and on-line documentation to analyze and restore malfunctioning environmental equipment.

  • Able to repair / replace motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating ventilation fans, using special tools and equipment such as staging, hoists and rigging.

  • Using pressure and vacuum gauges or soap and water, inspect for and repair refrigerant gas leaks, and add refrigerant gas to the prescribed operating pressure.

  • Performs computer assigned maintenance and preventative maintenance on environmental systems, documenting the work performed and what was replaced and/or repaired.

  • Electronic and/or written communication with co-workers and management about work being performed.

  • Perform Lock Out / Tag Out (LOTO) procedure

  • Use of welding equipment.

  • Work extended hours to repair equipment and minimize down time.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • US Citizen

  • Secret Security Clearance (or ability to obtain upon hire).

  • High School or GED or Trade School diploma.

  • Universal HVAC Certification.

  • EPA Universal Certification (Class IV) for the proper use of refrigerants.

  • Minimum of (2) years of commercial / industrial experience in the HVAC trade is required.

  • Prior use of Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Requires lifting loads of up to 50 lbs., bending, crouching, and working on ladders.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience handling refrigerants, brazing and welding of connections.

  • Ability to work independently and with other members of a team.

  • Experience with preventative maintenance and repair of manufacturing and process equipment.

  • Knowledge of heating and cooling of environmental chambers with cascade systems.

  • Possess good electrical, mechanical, plumbing, analytical and over all troubleshooting skills.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $59520 - $95280

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
