Job Summary:

Caterpillar’s Electric Power Division has an opening for an Aftermarket Sales Business Development Consultant which will be responsible for leading development projects for Retail Electric Power (REPS) Generator Set product.

Job Purpose:

To serve as the REPS Overhaul SME with broad responsibility to drive aftermarket Overhaul services growth for Caterpillar Generator Sets. The main deliverable is REPS Repair Option development: both new and reman offering development to meet customer and Dealer requirements. This role develops and manages a NPI pipeline with sales support responsibility. The focus is on Engine Overhaul components, engine replacements (SREs) and Generator End rebuilds.

This role represents Global coverage: with the expectation of prioritizing based off largest lost opportunity. This role will work closely with Regional and local sales support and sales execution teams to drive results.

What you will do:

  • Sales Support: Supporting regional sales teams in achieving current year business plan through REPS Overhaul expertise. The role is expected to develop sufficient marketing and training material in support of the sales teams. Some travel is expected in support of training and repair option development.

  • NPI Pipeline: Developing a strong Services NPI pipeline around the REPS Overhaul portfolio. This role needs to work closely with field teams to develop strong business cases for NPI investment. The REPS Overhaul Consultant will work with internal product groups to fund and prioritize development projects.

  • Marketing Support: Developing sufficient marketing and training material in support of NPI projects and any gaps identified in current offerings. This includes digital lead tools such as PSEs.

  • Training SME: Developing strong training material that improves the sales effectiveness of Dealer and Cat sales teams. Strong communication and presentation skills are necessary to present to Cat, Dealer and customer teams.

Degree Requirement: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience desired.

  • Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.

  • Business Development: Knowledge of business development tools, techniques and approaches; ability to explore and develop potential areas of business growth for the organization.

Additional information:

  • This role may require domestic & International travel up to 20% of the time.

Summary Pay Range:

$126,000.00 - $189,000.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
