The Director Site Planning – Small Molecule is responsible & accountable for developing a team of managers and professionals across site planning functions, including Master Production Planning, Detailed Scheduling & Materials Requirement Planning, for the Gurabo (PR), Puebla (MX) and San Jose dos Campos (BR) Small Molecule sites within the Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicines Supply Chain

The selected candidate will also be a member of the Gurabo Site Leadership Team in addition to the Global Planning Small Molecule Team.

This is a position that offers great potential for further career growth within the Supply Chain organization, as it will give a unique experience in a complex production environment within a global context as well as being part of a site leadership team to give you a broader business understanding. Collaboration across many organizations is required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, develop, and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) to ensure that customer requirements and inventory targets are met, while facilitating efficient manufacturing operations.

  • Develop Detailed Schedules that maximizes site efficiency while delivering exceptional service levels.

  • Lead the Material Requirements Planning group to ensure material availability on time to avoid production interruption & maintains inventory health across all key materials.

  • Create and maintain relationships, internally and externally, that allow the plant to interpret demand and inventory requirements and respond with the right capacity, products and schedules to meet customer requirements. Proactively identify constraints or potential issues and develop options for resolution. Lead the escalation process for supply risks (STEM) at site.

  • Lead, develop and implement simulations, reports and presentations to support management decisions on asset / product level for the Supply Review Meetings (SRM).

  • Provide input to the Integrated Business Process (IBP) process

  • Provide inventory projections and analyze actuals versus the projections.

  • Lead identification of inventory management opportunities that improve profitability through cost reduction, cost avoidance, and process improvements.

  • Drive continuous improvement to improve planning and master data processes within the plant and partner with Site to help identify and drive improvements on delivery, cost, and reliability.

  • Partner and collaborate with Small Molecule sites and End to End (E2E) Planning to understand, assess and respond to the market needs with the appropriate level of focus, priority and resource.

  • Develop Planning team to meet the demands of a modern supply chain while growing the capabilities of individual members.

  • Ensure recruitment, development, and retention of high performing associates.

  • Develop and maintain objectives, development plans, performance reviews and succession plan for all associates.

  • Provide Leadership and vision to further optimize the production planning and transform this into a product-based platform process.

  • Deliver on metrics including, not limited to - OTIF, Schedule attainment & Inventory.

  • Be active member of the Site leadership team and of the global Fill-Finish platform planning leadership team.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management or related field is required.

  • An advanced degree in Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent experience is preferred.

Skills & Experience:

Required:

  • 10 years of Supply Chain experience (incl. manufacturing, logistics, planning) is required, preferably in pharmaceutical industry.

  • People management experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical and quantitative skills.

  • Ability to build strong collaborative teams and relationships, leading cross functional/ virtual teams.

  • Ability to partner with and influence others without direct authority; build consensus and look for collaboration with people from different departments and all levels in the organization.

  • Business insight in the area of Supply Chain & financials.

  • Customer focused; results and performance driven.

  • Ability to lead multiple initiatives and work in a matrix environment where priorities change rapidly and tight deadlines exist.

Preferred:

  • Strong written and oral communications skills are critical for success in this role (English required, Spanish preferred)

  • Experience in healthcare or similarly complex, regulatory-dependent sector.

  • Ability to work in a global and virtual network, composed of different cultures.

  • Clear understanding of external Supply Chain trends.

  • Highly motivated, adaptable and flexible.

  • Ability to embed a culture of harmonization, process improvement and value creation.

  • Ability to develop, coach and lead a team of planners in the execution, strategies and realization of departmental and company goals.

  • Coaching and mentoring skills.

  • Serve as a role model for Credo based decision making.

  • SAP experience.

  • OMP experience.

  • APICS / LEAN / FPX certifications.

Other:

  • May require occasional travel to other local JNJ facilities (Less than 10%).

  • This position requires ability and flexibility to work on weekends/off hours for patient support.
