The Industrial Hygiene (IH) & Ergonomic Specialist is responsible for leading and executing EHS programs with main focus on Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics to ensure compliance with local and corporate standards. The Specialist will be responsible for demonstrating leadership and providing technical assistance to all levels of the organization around IH to attain EHS, production, quality, and cost goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) department to ensure compliance with OSHA and corporate standards.

  • Lead the following programs: Chemical Management, Exposure Assessment, Hearing Conservation, Biosafety, Hazard Communication, Asbestos, Radiation safety, Ergonomic, Personal Protective Equipment and Respiratory Protection Program.

  • Assist compliance audits, IH & Ergo risk assessments, recommend solutions to identified hazards, design/implement solutions, and participate on health and safety teams.

  • Support EHS Management of Change (MOC) process.

  • Manage SAP system for hazard communication product labeling specification.

  • Complete Industrial hygiene reports, employee exposure notifications and IH field monitoring and evaluations.

  • Support incident investigations associate with IH programs to lead all aspects of compliance requirements regulation and apply risk-reduction strategies to mitigate process safety risk.

  • Support occupational health team on medical surveillance inclusion assessment.

  • Provide Industrial hygiene and ergonomic training to site employees and management as needed.

  • Review and update IH and ergonomic training program.

  • Participate in external and internal audits (e.g. EHS corporate audit, ISO 14001, Regulatory compliance audits, inspections by local government agencies), and acknowledge/follow-up on employees' EHS concerns and good saves.

  • Adhere to the operating company’s policies, good manufacturing practices and EHS procedures.

  • Help to coordinate audit process for the assigned EHS programs, focused on annual self-assessment, Corrective Plan and Preventive, plan (CAPA) development, track progress towards CAPA due dates, and participate/lead EHS or Credo Team and awareness activities.

Qualifications

Education

  • Master’s in Industrial Hygiene with bachelor’s degree in Science is required.

Experience and Skills

Required:

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience

  • OSHA 30 hours training in General Industry

  • Knowledge of Federal and State safety-related laws

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Preferred:

  • Experience within the Pharmaceutical industry.

Other:

  • Requires bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (oral and written)

  • Requires up to 10% domestic and international travel.
