The Role at a Glance:
We’re excited to add a Consultant to our Corporate Communications team.
In this role you will be responsible for collaborating on the development of communications strategy and executing communications programs for Lincoln Financial Group’s wealth management business. This individual will develop comprehensive communications plans including both internal and external communications tactics and will focus on building relationships with stakeholders in their areas of responsibility and across the company and driving measurable results.
What you'll be doing:
Serve as a subject matter expert and work with business line stakeholders to understand business needs, goals and objectives, and recommend, develop and implement communication plans and activities to most effectively reach target internal and external audiences, including employees, media and financial professionals.
Develop communications content including, but not limited to, leadership messages, intranet articles, video content, press releases, social media posts, messaging documents and more for business line programs and initiatives.
Develop and maintain media relationships for proactive pitching and management of inbound media inquiries.
Develop and execute communications strategies to effectively support change management efforts.
Play a leading role in ensuring that communication plans and activities are aligned across key internal and external stakeholder groups through ongoing collaboration with colleagues across the communications team and project leads.
Provide strategic and consultative communications guidance to senior leaders in the business line you support.
Seek to continuously improve processes and practices, bring innovation and creativity to day-to-day work. Partner with several teams internally (Creative Services, Graphic Design, Brand, Video Production, Social Media, etc.) to execute communications deliverables.
Work across stakeholder groups to ensure communication activities align with overall corporate objectives and the corporate Brand.
Develop program to measure effectiveness of communications efforts and report out to stakeholders and communications leadership regularly.
Advise internal stakeholders on key trends, issues and news within the communications space.
What we’re looking for:
4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's).
3-5 years of corporate communications, internal and/or external communications experience required.
Innovative and collaborative communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills. A team player with passion for creative storytelling.
Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical discussions/presentations.
Demonstrated strong relationship management skills with internal clients (e.g. senior management, peers and colleagues); proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.
