CVS Health Medicare Expense Management Lead (72269BR) in Hartford, Connecticut
The Medicare Strategic Programs team is seeking a Lead Business Consultant. The Lead Business Consultant, Medicare Expense Management, leads the program management of Aetna Cost Transformation (ACT) program for Aetna Medicare Business. The role is accountable for establishing governance routines and tools to monitor the execution ACT initiatives in-flight for 2021, developing and implementing a rigorous and structured process to manage workstreams to identify 2022 expense reduction commitments, and providing direct project management support to complex, high value opportunities. The Medicare Expense Management lead will collaborate across all Medicare functions and partner closely with Finance. The position reports the Vice President, Medicare Strategic Programs.
Institutes processes and controls to monitor the completion of expense reduction commitments, including tracking milestones and key performance indicators
Structures and manages a process for distributed workstreams to identify and evaluate incremental expense reduction opportunities
Regularly summarizes progress for Medicare senior team, highlighting key issues and driving recommendations for approval
Drives or guides development of holistic solutions for discrete opportunities.
Proactively identifies opportunities for improvement and independently influences business leader(s) including the most senior level, to act or change behavior through complex negotiations and/or expert consultation that promotes issue resolutions
Communicates compelling and concise results to empower business owner in decision making process regarding project opportunities.
Conducts thorough business case and external customer value analysis to determine selection, prioritization positioning and approach for broadest range of potential solutions (e.g., outsourcing, process improvements, technology solutions)
Fully integrates baseline and metrics tracking into initiative planning and execution for optimal results.
Drives or guides engagement using a disciplined repeatable methodology. Provides oversight to or drives initiative planning as required.
Designs, develops interventions and facilitates work sessions.
Develops and delivers all required analysis, reporting and presentation materials.
Facilitates diverse internal and external networks, as appropriate, for data gathering and best practice identification.
Leverages internal and external networking to drive optimal initiative results and knowledge/best practice transfer.
Demonstrated experience in expense management activities
Demonstrated experience partnering with Aetna Finance
Demonstrated relationship management skills at the senior level; capacity to quickly build and maintain credible relationships at varying levels of the organization simultaneously.
Demonstrated leadership with relevant initiatives: Business process, enterprise business project management/consulting, financial strategic planning and analysis, mergers and acquisitions, strategic planning, risk management.
Demonstrated superior business process, project management and organizational redesign experience.
Demonstrated experience successfully implementing change in complex organizations.
Experience with enterprise-wide and/or cross-functional large scale initiatives with high degree of complexity.
10+ years experience with several of the following methodologies: management consulting, project consulting, business process consulting, financial strategic analysis, mergers and acquisitions, strategic business planning, and/or risk management consulting.
Masters degree preferred, but not required. College degree. Appropriate licensure or certification by discipline preferred
