Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Pinnacle Hotel Management. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position requires strong negotiation skills and good judgment, as well as the ability to work well with other departments and maintain strong interpersonal relationships both inside and outside the hotel. SM will analyze and estimate the total value of each piece of business and negotiate the best contract to achieve optimum revenue for the hotel while providing excellent guest service and meeting budgeted sales goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

-Negotiates room blocks, room rates, function space, food and beverage prices and hotel services within approved departmental booking guidelines. Confirms in writing to the client and all applicable hotel departments all group requirements via group sales contract, corporate rate agreement, or catering event order.

-Meet or exceed budgeted sales goals

-Develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional associations, activities and events

-Conducts a professional, thorough site inspection of the hotel with clients, exhibiting key features and benefits of the property

-Calls on prospects to solicit business

-Analyzes requirements of function, outlines available hotel facilities and services offered and quotes prices within revenue guidelines.

-Consistently and thoroughly communicates all details of group bookings to the Event Manager during the turnover process.

-Responsible for development, solicitation and regular maintenance of accounts in assigned market segments

-Review daily status of business, schedules, priority assignments, booking and all information pertinent to the department operation.

-Organize traces for follow-up and meet or exceed sales solicitation call goals as assigned by the Director of Sales

-Monitor and handle all inquiry calls and leads on a timely basis; actively solicit and book business following hotel standards.

-Assist in the in the planning and execution of monthly sales activities and promotions, including email blasts, blitzes, client events and annual sales solicitation day.

-Develop a full working knowledge of the operations of the hotel, including Food & Beverage, Guest Services and Reservations

-Use your property computerized sales management system to manage the hotel business, including (but not limited to) creating contracts, generating reports, entering business, blocking space and building accounts.

'-Excellent communication skills, including writing and presentations

-Outstanding customer service ethic and high expectation for quality

-Excellent time-management skills and ability to delegate and handle multiple priorities

-Ability to handle conflict and resolve situations in a logical win/win manner both for customer and hotel.

-Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point. Strong understanding of some financial reports, including budgets, P&L and STAR.

-At least 3 years’ experience and/or a 2- or 4-year college degree.

Pay: From $57,000.00 per year

Additional 1.5% commission on sales: 0.75% after booking and 0.75% upon actualization
