What does this role look like?

The Mission Solutions (MSOL) line of business contracts organization is looking for a senior manager to lead its Defense & Space Security (DSS) portfolio and to perform additional contracts leadership and management responsibilities across the MSOL line of business. The successful candidate will have leadership responsibility for a team of contracts professionals and will be responsible for all contractual matters within the DSS portfolio. The successful candidate will further serve as an advisor to program management and finance teams, as well as to personnel from other functional areas (i.e., legal, supply chain, pricing, etc.).

This role will offer you the following daily challenges:

• Providing strategic contractual guidance and leadership throughout the DSS portfolio.

• Leading contractual efforts to expand portfolio offerings into new market areas, including commercial and international customers.

• Developing and executing negotiation and contract management strategies.

• Ensuring that contracts are negotiated and administered in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations, applicable laws, and Lockheed Martin policies and procedures.

• Reviewing and approving work product such as proposals, contracts, terms and conditions, and modification documents.

• Reviewing and evaluating customer requests for proposal and revisions to contracts.

• Providing contractual guidance and training to employees.

• Preparing and presenting briefings to management and customers, and working with team members to do the same.

• Understanding, communicating, and implementing strategic initiatives across the team.

• Coordinating personnel matters, such as employee recruitment, selection, training, work assignments, performance assessments, salary, and recognition/ disciplinary actions.

• Developing productive working relationships with internal and external customers.

• Traveling to other Lockheed Martin sites as needed.

Although this position does support some teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near a major Lockheed Martin Space facility (Herndon, Denver, King of Prussia) and be expected to work in the office as needed and as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications:

To be successful, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

• Bachelors degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education, with professional experience and specialized training commensurate with assignment.

• Broad knowledge and experience with all phases of contracts management and leading people and possess exceptional contracts management and negotiation acumen.

• Knowledge of and comfort working with a wide range of contract types, including CPFF, CPIF, FPI, FFP, T&M, and IDIQ.

• Professional experience with U.S. Government procurement regulations, international contracts, and direct commercial contracts.

• Prior managerial or other significant leadership experience, both in team and one-on-one settings.

• Ability to understand core financial and business concepts.

• You will need to be a US Citizen, and currently possess and be able to maintain a US TOP SECRET clearance (SCI eligible), to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Desired Skills:

To be successful, ideally, you should also have:

• Virtual team management experience.

• Experience as a Full Spectrum Leader.

• Ability to communicate and establish strong relationships with internal and external customers.

• Knowledge of Lockheed Martin’s policies and procedures.

• Knowledge of Lockheed Martin’s Electronic Contracting System.

• Ability to influence positive business outcomes with fact, reason, and the ability to convey the company’s positions through exceptional oral and written communication skills.

• Advanced educational degree(s), such as JD or MBA.

• Professional certification(s) such as Certified Federal Contracts Manager.
