Job Location: Hershey, PA * Job Summary:* This role is for a communications professional who is seeking to broaden their experience in multiple aspects of corporate internal and external communications working on a nimble and fast-paced team. The Associate Manager will function as a generalist collaborating with business partners and other communications team members to execute work across the company and department’s strategic priorities. Candidate should have experience working on an entire life cycle of a communications project, from planning through content creation and distribution to target audiences. The successful candidate should leverage knowledge of multiple stakeholders to create messages appropriate for all groups. To start, this role will support external and internal communication across the U.S. Commercial, Growth and Finance functions to deliver strategic communications across audiences and channels. * Role Responsibilities:* Content Creation * Collaborates with communications team members and business partners to develop messages that resonate with multiple stakeholder groups * Actively contributes to editorial planning, suggesting content ideas and appropriate project timelines * Identifies the proper channels to reach target audiences Develop Message Consistency & Support Delivery * Proactively seeks guidance from stakeholder specialists to determine potential consequences of messaging strategies * Coordinates with team members to ensure consistent message timing * Shares work with others across the team to safeguard against any inconsistencies in messaging * Develops presentations for internal and external audiences and supporting materials. Project Management and Stakeholder Engagement * Takes into account competing and changing priorities, resources, and time demands to produce plans that are impactful, realistic and achievable * Proactively raises concerns regarding possible project management roadblocks and provides solutions * Meets with management to conduct after-action project review * Uses surveys, media and online tracking, and other listening techniques to develop a holistic view of how stakeholders feel about company-relevant issues * Draws on stakeholder understanding to advise business partners on optimal message content and timing for different stakeholder segments Communications analysis and measurement * Reviews media reports and online news stories and circulates “hot topics” to stakeholders and business clients when needed * Creates and distributes reporting analysis dashboards on events and situations as needed/ assigned * Analyzes sentiment and trends to anticipate needs and suggests improvements * Measures efficacy of communications tactics and programs. * Qualifications:* * Bachelor’s Degree preferred in communications, journalism, marketing, public relations, public policy, social sciences or other associated major. * Minimum 3-5 years of work experience in communications * Strong verbal, written and presentation skills; demonstrated ability to write for broad and diverse audiences and in digital formats * Experience in communicating authentically, concisely and convincingly in diverse organizations; ability to translate broad and complex ideas and concepts to clear and compelling communications * Ability to multi-task, handling volumes of information and working under strict timelines * Acts with conviction, seeks new ideas, and suggests alternatives * Attention to details, resourceful, responsible and strong work ethic * Excellent agile collaboration, influence, negotiation and inter-personal skills * Makes linkages - internal and external, global and local, company and brand, risk and opportunity – to create plans and executions that drive our company purpose and business strategy in ways that are meaningful to our stakeholders and enhances and protects the company’s reputation. * Strong analytical skills as well as the ability to think creatively/conceptually, and effectively interact with individuals at all levels within the company * A team player with a can-do attitude with ability to work independently * Strong project management skills * Business acumen with clear ability to incorporate learnings in to practice #LI-NB1 The Hershey Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
