  • Summary*

The C-Store Sales Planning Manager acts as the strategic point of connection between Sales and the broader internal Hershey organization. Key responsibilities include developing, evaluating and supporting company and channel sales strategies, providing execution direction and guidance while aligning with key stakeholders.

The C-Store Sales Planning Manager collects sales feedback and aligns with Brand/C-Store goals to develop industry-leading sales programming, support materials and communications that enable creation of successful sales plans across all C-Store customers.

The C-Store Sales Planning Manager works collaboratively with the broader C-Store and cross functional leadership teams to develop and execute cutting edge technological advancements, driving the channel’s insights driven selling initiatives.

  • Responsibilities:*

  • Technology Advancements*

-Lead cross functional projects delivering best in class, cutting edge tools that can be leveraged to drive sales and profitability within the C-Store channel

-Key responsibility will be the continued advancement of the strategic plan (both short term and long term) for Hersheysolutions.com, the online C-Store sales portal. This will involve working with IS, the Digital team, as well as the broader C-Store sales leadership team to build out key timelines/deliverables along with resources needed, the KPIs/scorecard and a communications plan for our retail team.

  • Strategic Planning – Program Development/Communication*

  • Support the development of the Annual C-Store GAP Retailer program, Annual Distributor Partnership Program (DPP), Seasons, Brand, Innovation and Consumer programs with industry leading go to market strategies.

-Collaborate with all relevant key stakeholders including marketing, finance, demand planning and sales partners to provide integrated sales insights related to pricing, trade, shelf strategies, distribution assumptions, volume planning, etc while identifying opportunities and aligning on strategic direction/resource allocation.

-Drive adherence to critical timelines to meet all internal and external (including customer) deadlines to include all sales needs/requirements – selling stories, point-of sale materials, samples and comps.

-Partner with Merchandising COE to align on relevant merchandising strategies via the development of the annual C-Store display calendar.

-Create all weekly communications relating to C-Store business updates.

  • Business Analysis and Management*

-Provide ongoing business analysis, monitor market trends, understand implications of category and competitive developments; and recommend strategies and action plans.

-Utilize Factory, PlanEx, E-Buf and syndicated data to monitor trends, identify program execution gaps, and recommend solutions.

-Work collaboratively with Shopper Marketing and Sales Teams to address business opportunities and issues, identifying solutions and closing execution gaps.

-Provide direction and guidance to Demand Planning and Operations serving as the key Sales resource to ensure supportability across the everyday business, innovation launches, merchandising and seasons.

  • Qualifications*

Education: Bachelor's degree required.

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in sales or marketing (Category, Strategy & Insights, Customer Sales Executive, District Sales Manager preferred)*

-Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills along with solid data analytics capabilities.

-Working knowledge of key food industry trade channels or project management.

-Solid written communication & presentation skills required.

-Experience within a fast-paced business environment that requires multi-tasking.
