Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Horst Realty Company LLC. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.

JOB SUMMARY

Develops and directs the overall marketing, public relations and sales effort for the hotel as they relate to room, food, beverage and meeting room sales, by providing conceptual and strategic thinking and planning. The development and solicitation of business from all markets to ensure the necessary advance bookings needed to generate forecasts sales for a successful and profitable operation for the hotel. Manage the sales department to meet client service needs through effective oral and written information exchange between sales and clients and all hotel departments, promoting client satisfaction and hotel profitability.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Solicitations through effective oral and written communications while overseeing rate, date and space commitments for corporate transient clients and group room sales within the hotel. Oversees room blocks with the Front Office Manager.

  • Coordinates ongoing research of the travel industry to detect market trends and related information of new marketing trends and related information for development of new marketing strategies.

  • Develops and conducts persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.

  • Organizes, conducts and/or attends scheduled sales and related meetings to obtain and disseminate information. Informs necessary departments of client special requests.

  • Conducts site inspections. Maximizes revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, both orally and in written form to previous, current and potential clients.

  • Handles account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are completed and documented.

  • Travels locally to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel and review competition reader boards to develop leads. Maintains working relationships with area venues needing group accommodations.

  • Prepares information for, meet with and entertain as deemed appropriate by potential business from that account.

  • Analyzes and manages opportunities to maximize group revenues for the hotel..

  • Prepares and maintains direct mail lists and programs for established clientele and potential prospects.

  • Regular Attendance is required to perform Essential Functions.

  • Performs all other duties at the request of the General Manager.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Sales Experience: 2 years (Preferred)
