The Hershey Company Senior Financial Data Analyst in Hershey, Pennsylvania

Job Location: Hershey, PA , Hybrid, Remote * Summary:* This position supports Financial Data Systems processes, resources, and systems across THC. FDS ensures global financial data reliability, control and integrity surrounding technical and process solutions. This group is responsible for development, deployment, and maintenance of all Hershey financial processes. Decisions and actions of this department affect the efficiency and effectiveness of transaction processing, financial analysis and reporting used across Hershey. FDS governs global financial master data, ensures adequate control over financial information interfaced across Hershey’s systems environment as well as outlines, and executes Hershey’s financial system security strategy. This group also coordinates and manages Hershey’s financial close and consolidation. With Hershey’s global expansion and significant investment in financial system solutions, such as S4, BlackLine, Group Reporting, and other financial reporting platforms, etc., this group plays a key leadership role in defining sustainable and controlled process solutions. This central finance function demands knowledge of Hershey’s global operations, systems, and accounting requirements. Combination of new technology, continuous process enhancements and changing business landscape, FDS must maintain a high degree of technical proficiency to support on-going finance and business requirements. * Responsibilities:* Support the development, deployment, and maintenance of financial business processes across any financial systems such as, SAP, S4, Blackline, CFIN, and interfacing applications. This includes alignment with Hershey’s financial reporting structures, such as chart of accounts, cost elements and groups, cost centers, profit centers, internal orders, allocations and assessments, financial tables, certain SAP finance module configuration (including new material movements), etc. Participate on less complex system projects to accomplish the above. Promote continuous improvement in financial processes and use of SAP, CFIN and other key financial process/systems solutions. Modify and maintain financial structures and reporting for business needs, including reorganizations, acquisitions and divestitures. Assist in the monthly financial close process. Perform processes and top-level controls to ensure reliable, timely financial reporting and maintaining controls in the close process. This involves coordinating with regional finance and operational personnel, enforcing precise timing, translation of foreign financial statements, and SAP Security Review & SOX compliance. Assist in the financial control and oversight across the financially relevant systems in a backup role for US. This includes approving security requests to assess financial reporting or processing in key financially relevant systems. Execute on a regular basis, reconciliations of financial transactional information, such as various SAP ledgers to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial modules. This position will investigate all differences identified from the reconciliations and resolve any issues that arise. Identify and implement process improvements surrounding data reconciliations. * Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities:* / Qualifications:/ * Basic level of understanding of Hershey business processes, and process improvement activities * Strong communication skills (written and verbal) in English is critical. Additional languages is a plus. * Must be willing and capable to work at odd hours to support the region and projects. * Capable of documenting and improving processes is important. / Technical Skills:/ * Knowledge of SAP FI and CO modules, and related interdependencies * Knowledge of GAAP and basic understanding of internal controls * Basic knowledge of general ledger accounting and financial reporting processes * Overall understanding of Information Technology concepts * Excellent communication skills * Analytical thinker * Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:* * Bachelors Degree with accounting or business systems emphasis. CPA or MBA required.
