Lockheed Martin Data Engineer Staff Architect in Highlands Ranch, Colorado
Description: This position is for a Data Engineer in a Solution Architect/Engineering role within the Lockheed Martin Chief Data and Analytics Office (CDAO). This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to work in a exciting and evolving Data & Analytics organization where the latest data strategies will be developed and applied. We are looking for someone with deep experience in architecting, designing, and delivering full-stack data solutions across the entire data processing pipeline.
The work location for this position is virtual.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Architect, design, and deliver comprehensive, full-stack solutions across the entire data processing pipeline that meet functional requirements, minimizes technical debt, and adheres to data governance standards in support of a given initiative.
- Participate in the plan and development of architecture and technical roadmaps.
- Establish architectural/design vision and direction and provide oversight, advice, and guidance to developers, users, customers, and stakeholders to ensure viability of proposed data solutions.
- Facilitate design reviews and governance to ensure adherence to data engineering standards and consistency across Data & Analytics organization, product teams, and citizen developers.
- Exercise solution design direction on initiatives, facilitating alignment between Enterprise, Space, and Technical architecture to meet business needs.
- Facilitate large groups of diverse stakeholders to obtain consensus on target solution.

Basic Qualifications:
- Experience delivering solutions that involve complex, multi-system integration
- Experience working with HANA, Oracle, CP4D DB2 and Big Data platforms including Data Lakes experience
- Experience with building Data Virtualization and Data Visualization solutions
- Proven experience with communicating solution architecture and design to stakeholders for solution consensus
- Proven ability to perform due diligence during integrations, migrations, and decommissions to produce executable plans.
- Experience evaluating emerging technologies and the evolution of current technologies to define/recommend future vision roadmap for optimal application of technology to meet business needs.
- Experience with using ETL tools to build data pipelines and store data into data warehouse.

Desired Skills:
- Experience working with On-Prem and Cloud solutions
- Experience working with IBM CP4D and OpenShift containers platforms
- Proven experience with identifying applications and platforms impacted by a solution, the need for new platforms, and recommending platform selections.
- Proven ability to perform due diligence during integrations, migrations, and decommissions to produce executable plans.
- Experience evaluating emerging technologies and the evolution of current technologies to define/recommend future vision roadmap for optimal application of technology to meet business needs.
- Experience conducting Proof of Concept for emerging technologies to analyze feasibility for current solutions and business needs.

Ability to Work Remotely: Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $125,900 - $237,400. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $109,500 - $209,900. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
