Job Description

BAE Systems Air and Space Force Solutions (ASFS) Strategic Systems (STS) business unit seeks a Director of Growth Strategy & Planning . Successful candidates will demonstrate an ability to align and focus the line and business winning team resources to drive the organization s strategic growth objectives. This position will develop and refine an understanding of customers most important needs and create/lead winning capture strategies by identifyingtechnical, solution, past performance, and key personnel gaps; proposing solutions/remedies to fill these gaps; and taking the ownership to close these gaps. This position will maintain capability awareness across both BAE Systems and our broader technology partnerships to identify value added capabilities and bring them into their campaigns. This position will be measured on Growth Submittals and Growth Awards that lead to an agreed to capture rate.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Analyzepotential customer priorities, budgets, command structures and acquisition approaches. Apply this analysistodevelop, refine and communicate the ASFS and STS Strategic Growth Strategies, Campaigns and specific opportunity capture plans

  • Conduct strategic planning to include identification of long-term market trends, areas for investment, new/adjacent customers/relationships and out of the box approaches to solve problems; Assist the Chief Architect to translate customer requirements into executable solutions, suggest technology and other enablers to meet emerging customer needs

  • Drive campaign growth strategies into short- and long-term budgeting processes/planning. Translates broad strategies into specific objectives and action plans; implements process and systems to support priorities; integrates efforts across functions; assigns clear authority and accountability

  • Credibly leading our efforts in the ASFS organization to enable us to qualify pipeline opportunities, grow the existing pipeline, focus resources and execute strategiessupporting pending awards and the existing STS portfolio

  • Develop and execute strategic and tactical plans for the pursuit and successful capture of key opportunities; It is expected theDirector of Growth Strategy & Planningwill contribute to writing white papers, RFI responses and proposals.

  • Assist the Business Winning Team grow the opportunity pipeline within the ASFS markets/customers, through diligent and timely identification/qualification of new business opportunities by leveraging current technologies, customer intimacies, and inter-company collaboration

  • Lead or make recommendations to the senior leadership team regarding bid decisions, development of cost strategies and phase reviews

  • Establish, build, and maintain customer relationships and assess competitor capabilities aligned to specific customers in the Air and Space Force market; Coordinate customer engagement planning and the execution of an internal/external communications plan in partnership with business area, Sector and Inc level Business Winning activities

  • Assist the Business Winning Team identify, track and report new business metrics. Lead the implementation of actions to improve efficiency and business growth outcomes.

  • Participate in B&P planning as well as overhead budgets

  • Manage a small team of growth focused employees

  • Perform other duties as necessary

Successful candidates will interact with fellow BAE Systems multi-disciplinary subject matter experts, technical and management leaders from across the corporation, and high-ranking Government decision-makers to both support existing workloads critical to national security, and to identify and capture new business. The successful candidate will travel in support of various demonstration, capture, and aerospace industry activities.

This position will primarily perform these activities in or around Clearfield, UT. Hybrid work accommodations may be considered.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor s degree

  • Minimum 15 years of experience working with Air Force and Space Force customers; establishing strong relationships at a senior and strategic level

  • Demonstrated experience directly managing P&L activities

  • Proven track record of driving new business and expanding existing relationships through successful capture of large programs using industry recognized capture processes and proposal writing techniques

  • Deep familiarity with DoD planning and budgetary processes

  • Able to work independently and demonstrate strong initiative and an ability to organize assigned daily tasks and the tasks of subordinates with no supervision

  • Possess strong communication skills (oral and written) as well as the ability to interact with team members, external vendors, various levels of management and internal clients with assorted levels of computer experience

  • Experience in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • ActiveSECRET DoD Security Clearanceor higher with the ability to obtain and retain a Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Demonstrated experience directly managing a $250M P&L activity

  • Current Extensive experience working proposals and responding to RFP's

  • Previous military experience encouraged to apply

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $147300 - $250400

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
