Why Sentinel? The Sentinel Program is an enormous and complex Mega-Project modernizing the entire ICBM weapon system deployed across tens of thousands of square miles in five states. Without any doubt, Sentinel is one of the DoD s most important acquisition efforts for the next decade, if not longer. It includes a complete refurbishment of hundreds of aging Minuteman III ICBM facilities to secure and support a newly designed, technologically advanced ballistic missile. It will also provide an entirely new command and control system as well as vast array of required support equipment specifically engineered to operate and sustain the new weapon system over the decades ahead. Sentinel is the Department of Defense s newest official program of record . It enjoys broad, strong support at the national level. It is a long-term project - the weapon system will deploy over a 9-year period beginning in about 2026, and remain operational until at least 2075. Sentinel is a career-defining program that will present unique and challenging opportunities that simply are not available with smaller projects.
Tell me about this job. The First Flight System Integration engineer will support the Air Force s ICBM weapon system and the Sentinel. These are long-term sustainment and acquisition programs which are anticipated to remain operational until 2075.
This individual is a System-level Integration Engineer that will work across product teams and within System Engineering providing technical expertise in a systems of systems environment. You will work with other organizational leadership on priorities, fostering strong relationships, meeting business goals, and so forth. This individual will also help build teamwork, improve communications, develop/enforce policies, and work with stakeholders (internal and external). This position provides the opportunity to develop and hone communication, customer relationship, and leadership skills while working with a close-knit fun-loving team of other professionals.
The successful candidate will be energetic, self-motivated, and have the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with the desire to make a difference. Knowledge and experience working with the DoD and/or Air Force system integration and flight test readiness is required.
The specific responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Primary Systems Engineering Integration lead for Sentinel flight testing.
Providing leadership and insight into the Sentinel flight capability maturation.
Perform required tests and monitor all work according to DoD, Air Force, state and federal regulations.
Support range safety and flight test readiness for the maturation program.
Coordinate/interface across multiple IPTs to define, develop and integrate the Flight Test Program.
Integrated program demand planning.
Support to strategic planning and professional development/organization efficiency initiatives.
Drive technical performance with engineering oversight and insight to successfully support the flight test program, including technical reviews of data packages, including CDRL deliverables.
Guide IA&T to support program flight test program.
Ability to create and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external customers.
Success in leading and developing cross functional teams.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, with all levels of management and individual contributors.
This position is located at 6008 Wardleigh Rd, Hill Air Force Base, Utah. Due to the special-access classified working environment, it is not conducive to full telework or remote schedules.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
BS/MS.
7 years directly related, progressive technical experience (5yrs with MS degree).Able to work independently, demonstrate strong initiative, and organize and direct daily tasks with minimal supervision.
At least six years progressive responsibility in providing technical leadership, including managing small teams.
Strong communications skills (oral and written).
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
System maturation processes and associated development and integration test programs.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience with Telemetry Systems, Instrumentation, Flight Termination Systems, Integration & Test, Range Safety Requirements (AF-MAN 91-710), Flight Testing.
Prior experience interfacing with prime contractor integrated product team (IPT) leads and USAF leadership personnel.
Technical leadership experience, direction and mentoring to other technical employees in the application of scientific principles, tools and techniques to achieve practical end results.
Knowledge of configuration management best practices.
Ability to deal with ambiguity and meet program commitments in a highly concurrent engineering environment.
Ability to effectively maneuver through political situation and anticipate roadblocks.
Good organizational skills and ability to work with minimal direction.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with ICBM weapon systems, DoD and USAF system safety requirements, or military technology and technical data.
Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint and Atlassian Jira Project Management Software.
Prior experience as a Systems Integrator in a development and/or flight environment.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $100530 - $170910

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
