Lockheed Martin Software Quality Assurance Testing Engineer (Level 4) in Hill Air Force Base, Utah

Description: Join the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company as a part of our software application test team!

The selected candidate will be joining our Automated Weight and Balance System (AWBS) software team located at Hill AFB, Utah. The AWBS team develops and maintains a variety of software tools including the Automated Form F and Automated Weight and Balance System that support flight clearance as well as aircraft mass properties processes. The AWBS team supports a wide variety of aircraft such as the A-10, B-2, F-15, F-16, F-22, F-35, and U-2. As part of the Agile development process all software is tested to ensure 100% quality prior to delivery to customers. The AWBS team is looking for an individual with a great work ethic who enjoys looking for software bugs with a desire to deliver high quality software products. The work consists of testing new features as well as regression testing, writing clear and concise bug reports, creating new test cases, verifying bug fixes, while communicating effectively with team members and customers.

This position is temporarily classified as a part-time role requiring a minimum of 20 hours of work per week. The position is subject to re-evaluation for conversion to a full-time role within the sole discretion of leadership. The selected candidate will be required to be in the office (on-site) in accordance with a set team schedule in order to coordinate with the rest of the AWBS team. Currently the test team is in-office 2 days a week. Teleworking is acceptable when not in the office.

By joining our team your responsibilities will include:

• Determining test strategies, processes and plans

• Create and implement process improvements

• Create test plans and procedures

• Conduct software application functional/operational testing

• Create test reports

• Learn AWBS operational procedures

• Create and maintain testing schedule(s)

• Develop software code for test automation

• Complete testing on schedule and within allotted budget(s)

• Formulate and track metrics that will aid in delivering 100% quality products and improve overall efficiency

• Coordinate testing activities with entire AWBS team which includes software developers, product leads, etc.

• Participate in internal team meetings and meetings with customers, as required

• Participate in agile software development processes

• Create and utilize requirements traceability documents

• Participate in training events with our customer.

• Occasional travel may be required

• Must be a US Citizen

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance

Basic Qualifications:

The following Basic Qualifications are skills that a candidate must possess to be considered for this position and should be highlighted in your resume:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, such as Computer Science, or other technical field

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a software development and/or software testing position

• Experience and proficiency using computers and applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel

• Must be a US Citizen

• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance

Desired Skills:

The following Desired Skills are not required but are those skills that would set a candidate apart from the other candidates:

• Familiarization with military aircraft such as the F-16

• Knowledge of aircraft mass properties and weight and balance principles

• Experience developing iOS and/or Windows software applications

• Ability to work in a team environment

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
