The Caterpillar Oil & Gas and Marine Division currently has an opening for a Business Development Manager located in Houston, Texas. As a Business Development Manager at Caterpillar, you will be responsible for business growth strategy development, prioritization, and tactical M&A activities supporting the business unit.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

· Leads the prioritization, and communication efforts, establishing the plan to bridge the gap from traditional, organic growth identified in the Long-term Forecast (LTF) to Oil & Gas’s future revenue targets via M&A, venture capital investment, strategic partnership agreements, and other vehicles in between.

· Maintain market landscapes & identify emerging participants in key target growth areas supporting Caterpillar Oil & Gas’ strategic interests.

· Focuses on the strategic and opportunity analysis processes to develop the grow beyond core products and services path and target segments by utilizing Cat Strategic Investments 6 Sigma processes for growth.

· Leads cross-functional teams through the growth projects, pulling together experts from industry teams, product teams, business resources, and independent consultants.

· Communicates regularly with the global industry colleagues to ensure growth objectives are aligned with strategic needs.

· Analyzes market segments and external opportunities by working with enterprise team members with functional experiences in marketing, accounting, finance, or manufacturing.

· Coordinates with outside consultants and industry specialists, including outside consultant selection.

· Owns the grow-beyond-core plan by identifying: Revenue and profit growth strategy, Global prioritization of target segments, and Global target opportunity development.

· Other job duties as assigned.

· Travel 25%-50%

Basic Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree and 8-10 years of increasing responsibility experience in the oil and gas, energy, M&A, or venture capital industries. This can include solutions, services or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Strong leadership skills.

· Entrepreneurial mindset.

· Strong global coordination and interpersonal skills.

Top Candidates will also have:

· 8+ years’ experience in the field with customers.

· Oil & Gas experience

· Past 6 Sigma background up to Black Belt experience.

· Past financial, marketing, or technical experience, thinks futuristic, and has a global outlook.

· Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software and some financial analysis experience.

· Experience in start up business and/or new business development strategies and plans.

· Self-starter and results-oriented strategic thinker.
