Within the Large Capital Project Execution space, Dow Chemical has an outstanding opportunity for a Central Engineer Project Delivery Improvement Director located in Houston, TX. The CE Project Delivery Improvement Director is responsible, for the identification, definition and implementation of project delivery improvement opportunities at Houston and Chennai offices of Central Engineering.
Also, the Project Delivery Improvement Director supports CE Director in the project monitoring of performance and results, identifying project risks and deviation an outlaying the required intervention plans for mitigation
Project Delivery Improvement Director supports the successful operation of the single integrated Houston and Chennai Central Engineering Department identifying areas of improvement and proposing related solutions
Key Job Responsibilities *
Drive engineering team integration and consistency in leveraging processes procedures, practices, tools, and templates of the team residing in the two offices.
Participate in Project Execution Strategy decisions for the projects assigned to Central Engineering including the collaboration and coordination to determine Integrated execution plans
Interfaces with Technical Expertise and Support , departments and project teams to identify opportunities and risks
Coordinate with Global Improvement leaders and drive for overall Expertise Index development
o Talent development (PT, PTT), Technical Career Successions pipeline.
o Expertise index improvement plans.
Identify and initiate Project Delivery Improvements
Implementation of improvement actions across Central Engineering.
Drive sound/practical engineering skills and identify opportunities for development. Improve consistency.
Monitor Project Key Performance Indicators and initiate action to close any gaps in performance including Progress, Cost, Schedule, Quality, Engineering Productivity etc.
Active member of the Central Engineering Leadership Team and provides input to achieve initiatives and annual goals.
Provides Project Execution coaching for a diverse group.
Ensure the efficient and effective communication of requirements and expectations to external EPC firms for major outsourced projects.
Supports Central Engineering Director in any activities aimed towards the achievement of the critical goals of the Central Engineering Department.

Required Qualifications *
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in Capital Project Execution, Preferably in the Chemical and Oil industry.
Multi-Office Engineering Execution
Experience in People Leadership.
A minimum requirement for this U.S. - based position is the ability to work legally in the United States on a permanent basis (U.S. citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident or qualifying Asylee / Refugee).
Experience working internationally
Bachelor or Master’s Degree in engineering is required.
