Job Summary

The Director of Finance is responsible for overseeing finances for the hotel. The person in this role will provide property management with financial guidance and training and is responsible for promoting the profitability of the business, ensuring acceptable levels of internal control, ensuring compliance with all governmental regulations, on-site monthly bookkeeping.

The person in this position must have good communication skills, the ability to resolve conflict and a thorough understanding of Bunkhouse policies. The Director of Finance must develop and maintain the company’s culture, values, and reputation in the public eye, and with all staff, guests, vendors and partners.

Qualifications:

Responsibilities

· Oversee daily, weekly and monthly bookkeeping/data entry

· Manage and communicate cash flow related issues which includes the accurate and timely preparation of cash flow statements, management of receivables, payables, cash balances, control mechanisms and timely deposits of all funds

· Investigate and analyze variances to budget or to prior year

· Monitor the capital planning process by gathering support, monitoring the bid process, and ensuring proper payment of vendors

· Ensure compliance on all regulatory licenses and permits, leases, contracts, legal agreements, and the proper execution and payment of all operational taxes

· Assist with preparation of budgets; monitor operating budgets and capital budgets

· Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments

Qualifications

· Minimum of five years of related progressive experience in hotel and/or food & beverage Accounting or related field; or a 4-year college degree with an Accounting/ Finance concentration and a minimum of 4-years of related progressive experience.

· High School Diploma or equivalent required

· Experience in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel preferred

· Accuracy and efficiency with mathematical calculations

· Proficiency with computers and financial systems

· Ability to understand and work in various accounting systems and PMS and POS systems

· Gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor

· Ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment and have a high-level attention to detail

· Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork

· Flexibility to work a varied schedule, which may include weekends and holidays

· Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

· Ability to clearly communicate with guests, management, and co-workers

Education and Experience Requirements

· Bachelor's degree Preferred

· High School Diploma or GED

Policy and Service Responsibility

· Must adhere to all hotel/company loss prevention guidelines

Physical Requirements

· Able to perform the essential functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal , state and local standards, including meeting quality standards

· Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards

· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs

· Must be able to sit, stand, and squat frequently
