About Caterpillar Marine

You will be joining a high-performing team that’s paving the way to trim product and aftermarket growth for Caterpillar Marine, with Cat dealers. When our customers win, we win. Complete reman engines and service solutions improve uptime and reliability and reduce customer total cost of operation and make it easy to do business with Caterpillar and Cat dealers. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work directly with Cat dealers, customers, industry partners and the Caterpillar Marine and Cat Defense team to create the best possible customer experience. The Caterpillar Oil, Gas, and Marine Division currently has an exciting opportunity for a Governmental Segment Manager (Americas) located in Houston, Texas. The Governmental Segment Manager (Americas) works closely with Caterpillar Defense to ensure an efficient and successful sales process with EP 6:13 US Government customers from Business Development to the RFI stage, including services solutions for unmatched uptime and mission readiness. The incumbent will be responsible for identifying account(s), assimilate market requirements, market trends, customer data and formulate, document, and implement creative short and long-term plans (account strategy) to guide the respective Key Account Manager.

Job Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Serves as a recognized expert in the Marine Defense industry in Canada and LATAM.

  • Collect voice of the customer and business and influence the product and services strategy, as well the prime and aftermarket sales strategies.

  • Support and track of the agreed KPI’s with the Caterpillar Defense team.

  • Support global FMS (US Government Foreign Military Sales) business.

  • Responsible for the execution of the Governmental Segment strategy through a cross-functional team.

  • Identify Governmental accounts and review the account strategies to ensure that they reflect the holistic view of the business.

  • Deliver input into long term forecast, PINS targets for the company products and services solutions in the Governmental segment or market.

  • Assesses how regulatory, compliance and reporting requirements apply to own organization.
