BAE Systems is looking for a Senior Principal Systems Engineer to lead and coordinate all test activities associated with our APKWS Aviation Weapons Portfolio of programs. This position will require the candidate to perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, evaluates alternatives including cost, risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. the candidate will also support the development of verifiable requirements and compliance matrix files for both systems engineering and hardware/software engineering requirements. Will also generate overall system test strategies, along with associated documentation to include system verification plans and procedures. Will ensure that appropriate facilities and test equipment needed for system level testing are planned and made available at the appropriate scheduled time. The candidate will manage activities associated with environmental qualification testing, to include overall plans, procedures, and facilities.Manage activities associated with creating, managing automated testing with regard to precision munitions.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience with Semi-Active Laser Systems

  • Understanding and background in RF/EO/IR systems architecture, modeling, design and test for guidance and navigation systems

  • Experience with planning and conducting field test events at US Government Test Facilities

  • Familiarity with low cost and low SWaP design and development

  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and other engineering disciplines

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Experience in DASAL Technology and Laser Guided Munitions

  • Familiarity with Aeronautical properties and Computational Fluid Dynamics

  • Ability to Coordinate vendors and teams in development of passive/active sensor systems for test/evaluation

  • Assist in the flow down of requirements to testable modular hardware and software

  • Support trade studies, presentations, proposals and related activities

  • Experience leading technical teams

  • Ability to understand and generate CONOPS

  • Develop requirements in response to customer operational needs and mature operational concepts, and derive technical baselines necessary to meet the requirements

  • Assist in the flow down of requirements to testable modular hardware and software

  • Model Based Systems Engineering experience

  • Experience working across the entire Systems Lifecycle

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $126610 - $215270

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
