BAE Systems Electrical/RF Engineer in Hudson, New Hampshire

Job Description

We are seeking a mid-career Electrical Engineer with strong RF/microwave experience to support our RF seeker and precision munitions products and related technologies. This position involves a mix of up-front design and hands-on support of phased array antennas, wideband microwave modules, receiver front ends, tuners, up/down converters, filters, and switch matrices. If selected you will be part of the Hardware Team supporting the Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions product line, a major component of the growing Precision Strike Business Area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and integrate chip and board level RF components and associated electronics for GPS receivers, RF seekers, antennas, and related hardware for use in typical military environments, including high speed missile and projectile flight.

  • Perform signal integrity analysis.

  • Support hands-on build and test activities for test assets, test equipment, and flight hardware

  • Execute technical scope within schedule and budget constraints and elevate concerns to lead technical or program personnel when challenges arise.

  • Provide technical oversight and direction to less experienced engineers.

  • Demonstrate leadership capabilities (i.e. own the problem mindset) in team environment with strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Collaborate with external suppliers, as needed, to meet program technical requirements.

  • Document and present design/build/test artifacts to internal and external customers, as part of informal peer or formal design reviews.

Because of its mixed collaborative and independent nature, this role is a Hybrid position, meaning at least 50% of time is spent on-site at our facility in Hudson, NH.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with 6 years experience (4 years with Master s degree)

  • Solid understanding of RF fundamentals and performance metrics, millimeter wave physics, digital/analog/mixed signal electronics and interface/communication standards

  • Understanding of complex electronics manufacturing and test methodologies

  • Experience with state-of-the-art MMIC development tools and FPGA programming languages (VHDL, Verilog)

  • Strong "hands on" laboratory experience with instrumentation, processes, and equipment (including Low Noise Amplifiers, Power Amplifiers, Filters, etc.)

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in team environment with strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Motivated self-starter and problem solver with proven experience in leading and supporting diverse multi-disciplinary teams

  • Eligible to obtain a DoD Security Clearance

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Master s degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Current hands-on experience with phased array antennas and radars

  • Experience with SPICE modeling and XILINX & Lattice FPGA developments and toolsets

  • Control account management experience

  • MATLAB/Simulink/ANSYS HFSS or equivalent tool experience

  • Familiarity with image and signal processing algorithms

  • Active Secret or higher DoD clearance

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $92290 - $156860

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
