This full-time, on-site position will report directly to one of the PTP Plant Engineering Supervisors at the Hudson, NH PTP facility and will perform a variety of complex electrical work such as installing, maintaining, repairing, adjusting and troubleshooting a wide variety of electrical equipment. Also performs local oversight of contractors and coordinates in-house skilled trades during construction and maintenance projects.The facility sits on 190 acres in rural Hudson, NH, and has approximately 550,000 square feet of office, lab and manufacturing space. Area of responsibility extends to a fully conditioned 123,000 square foot warehouse facility also located in Hudson, NH.

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Works from blueprints, sketches, and manufacturer's equipment schematic diagrams to plan the sequence of operations, to carry out wiring and equipment installations and maintenance of industrial electrical equipment such as: boilers and boiler room support equipment and controls, chillers, air compressors, test chambers, HVAC controls, emergency power systems, fire and security systems, and other related equipment while ensuring the economical use of materials. Interfaces with design engineers and service technicians installing, modifying, and enhancing operations of equipment and completing construction projects may be required to work with or direct contractor personnel when performing these tasks.

  2. Calculates circuits sizing required to support equipment and rearrangements and provides the electrical service. Installs grounding systems as required. Installs modifications and interconnections to existing equipment controls as required. Installs modifications and interconnections to existing equipment controls as required.

  3. Determines routing locations and methods for installing power panels, circuits, conduits, wires, electrical equipment, fixtures, controls, and accessories. Selects and orders materials from supplies.

  4. Performs preventative maintenance, repairs, and calibration of industrial equipment to minimize down time and unscheduled outages. Inspects and checks circuits for continuity and proper functioning. Recommends better utilization and maintenance of plant equipment to avoid or minimize unscheduled outages.

  5. Repairs and rebuilds defective, damaged, or inoperative electrical equipment and components. Isolates source of difficulty and installs temporary hook-ups as required to minimize down time.

  6. Performs all duties in accordance with applicable State, Federal and Local codes and ordinances, and established trade practices. Complies with all safety codes and regulations such as: NEC, NFPA, and OSHA.

  7. Plans and lays out new jobs and renovates/alters existing equipment to assure project installations are correct and complete for proper operation. Responsible for ensuring all work performed and completed as specified by contract, engineering drawings & specifications and applicable codes.

  8. May be required to participate on special teams: snow removal, emergency response, carry an on-call phone etc. and respond to off hour emergency call-ins.

  9. Coordinates and works with contractors to maintain all aspects of the facility operation as needed.

  10. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • High School diploma and a New Hampshire Journeyman's Electrician License OR be actively enrolled in an approved apprenticeship program.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • 4 years of commercial/industrial experience in the electrical trade.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $54560 - $87340

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
