BAE Systems Precision Strike (PS) Business Area has an immediate opening for a Chief Engineer for the Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line specializing in RF Seeker development programs.

Assignment will be a Chief Engineer for our Next Generation Multi-mode Seeker growth. This is a Technical Director role encompassing leading captures and efforts associated with seeker and guidance technology. This role requires the candidate to be responsible for planning, technical strategy, engineering staffing, budget, schedules, scope management, risk and opportunity management, and team coordination. The candidate coordinates with Program Managers and Product Line Director to ensure customer needs are met.
This role will be staffed in Huntsville, AL. In Huntsville, our Engineering team is working in a recently opened state of the art facility and operating in a unique environment where we have the power and resources of BAE Systems behind us while working in a dynamic and flexible model. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provides subject matter expertise in the areas of RF Seeker Architecture, Design, and Development.
Supports technical leadership of a project or projects within the programmatic guidelines set by the customer and Product Line.
Defines, generates, and reviews customer s project requirements and needs.
Interface with customers to create opportunities, communicate our solutions, set expectations, and mange scope.
Guides project to ensure work scope, schedule, and budget are well defined and maintained.
Acts as a mentor to junior engineers.
Supports the Program Engineering focal points for all activity within program including strategic planning, bid and proposal support for engineering content, integrated engineering plans on programs, issue reporting, and risk and opportunity management.
Supports continuous improvement of product development team.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's Degree and 12 years of professional experience
Active Secret clearance
Demonstrated subject matter expertise in weapons systems architecture and design, missile systems or guided projectiles architecture and design, and weapons systems performance analysis
Experience with design and development of RF/ EO/ IR Seekers for missiles, guided projectiles, glide weapons, and/ or interceptor applications
Proven leadership managing projects and interfacing with customers
Results oriented and driven to closure/ decision making
Boldness and resilience in tackling challenging design activities and technologies
Experience managing team through system integration and verification for complex systems
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Experience working with customers to develop opportunities for seekers/sensors (EOIR, RF/Radar, SAL)
Experience leading Tech Maturation or EMD programs
Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering / Digital Engineering
Develop briefings, white papers, and analysis to support the business capture efforts
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $150370 - $255630

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
