Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a GBSD OC2 Software Architecture Lead. This position will be located in Huntsville, AL and will support the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program. Learn more about the GBSD program here.
What You'll Get To Do:
The OC2 Software Architecture Lead is responsible for leading the software architecture for a team of SW developers, SW testers, and System Administrators in the design, prototyping, development, test, and delivery of SW to support critical milestones to the GBSD Program. The team will provide innovative and effective software engineering solutions to complex technical problems. Tasks include: managing all aspects (technical, schedule, and cost) of the SW architecture; staffing; leading the team in organic growth proposals (including CROMs & ECPs), authoring TD/BOEs and proposal development (including submission, capture, and negotiations); interfacing frequently with internal and external stakeholders, including cross-program counterparts and the customer. Execution of the above will take place in an agile environment implementing Agile DevSecOps principles and tenets including scrum at scale.
The OC2 Software Architecture Lead will set and operate to program objectives and provide guidance to employees for the implementation of a Modern Large data environment using mostly COTS HW/SW development in an Agile DevSecOps environment within a larger Command and Launch system. Candidate will work closely with the OC2 Element Lead and associated organizational peers to successfully execute and delivery mission critical development and integration activities for OC2 software.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, presentation, organizational, professional development, and mentoring skills. Demonstrated ability to implement process improvements, streamline activities, and develop efficiencies. Ideal candidates will have a proven technical background in intelligence, cyber or other large-scale, diverse, and evolving data processing systems software development, structured and unstructured data recovery and analytics, and software integration & test.
Provides Functional Management oversight for a team of Engineers.
Provides staffing and workload forecasting; employee inclusion, engagement, mentoring and career development; employee training and identification and training of skills required to execute on programs.
Provides Problem Solving Expertise and capability to mentor the team in problem solving skills
Has excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ideal candidate will have demonstrated success collaborating and leading technical teams.
Provides Leadership and Vision for the technical direction of the OC2 Software Architecture
Ensures the communication of the project or product status and path forward is clear and provided to all stakeholders
Drives the Metrics for Quality, Schedule, Cost and Productivity for the Software Subsystem effort. Continuous Process Improvement
Provides leadership and management of scope, schedule and budget associated with subcontractors supporting the Software Architecture Subsystem development activity
Coordinates with Program Management, Development Engineering, Operation Areas, and Manufacturing Management to ensure plans are created and resolution of technical issues
Technical Contributor and Process Implementation Support as part of the Management Team.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
