Lockheed Martin Systems Engineer in Huntsville, Alabama

The THAAD Independent Research & Development Team is looking for motivated individuals to help lead IRAD projects, from early concept development, through final completion and presentation to the MDA customer. In this role, you will support an IRAD project in the areas of THAAD Weapon System Evolution or future Integrated Architectures. You will lead a team across various functions, such as Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, System Integration and Test. You will be responsible for financial and task planning and execution from start to finish, and communicating status and issues to the IRAD leadership.
The ideal candidate will work independently and with initiative, react to changing objectives, manage multiple tasks, and have strong presentation and interpersonal skills.
As a System Engineer supporting IRAD Team, you will:
• Integrate new and affordable concepts into existing systems.
• Drive/lead IRAD initiatives.
• Conduct/lead problem identification and requirements analysis.
• Plan and execute technical tasks according to annual budgets
• Apply decision analysis methods to evaluate current and future programs.

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business-oriented discipline or equivalent work experience
• Knowledge of Missile Defense systems
• Interim DoD Secret Clearance prior to start; US Citizenship required
Desired Skills:
• THAAD Weapon System Experience
• Business development - International experience
• Experience leading small technical teams
• Modeling & simulation experience
• Knowledge & experience in preparing / delivering written or oral presentations
• MDA, PM Shield, other defense customer interaction
• Experience with Systems of Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Design to Cost, major defense simulations
• Experience in briefing and interfacing with senior level management and customers
• Knowledge of military operations, tactics, and organizations
• Operational or analytical analysis experience
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels
• Experience in MS Office tools such as PowerPoint and Word
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
