The largest medical facility in the region, Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) includes a full-service hospital with 318 patient beds. It serves as the region’s healthcare hub, serving southeast Idaho, western Wyoming, Yellowstone National Park and parts of Montana. EIRMC is home to a Level II Trauma Center, a Level 1 ICU (of only two in Idaho), and the only Burn Center in the state of Idaho. Our ER is the most experienced in the region. The hospital's other specialty services include the region's only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit capable of caring for babies born as early as 22 weeks gestation; the region’s only Pediatric Intensive Unit, the largest heart program in the region, a Behavioral Health Center which is a74-bed Joint Commission accredited psychiatric hospital and the region’s only Primary Stroke Center.

TheOR/Surgical Technician*is responsible for demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide assistance during surgical procedures performed in the department.
*The OR Technician is experienced in all aspects of aseptic technique, and setting up the required equipment and sterile supplies as needed for their assigned cases; pulling cases as needed, breaking down cases at the end of the procedure.
*He/she is knowledgeable regarding instrumentation, equipment, and supply needs for all types of surgical procedures.
*The OR Technician performs delegated duties consistent with his/her scope of practice and functions within the philosophy and overall plan of care delivery.

*Completion of credential surgical technical program (preferred)
*Candidates with on-the-job training is accepted with 5 years of experience.
*Certification as a CST by the Liaison Council on Certification, or a State of Idaho LPN license is preferred. *Surgical technology students accepted ninety days prior to course completion Students must work in orientation status with supervision until graduation from program. *American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification (offered during New Hire Orientation)
*Completes and maintains hospital/unit specific mandatory requirements in a timely manner. Individuals will be enrolled in courses based on previous experience and unit needs.
