This job is for a Wastewater Treatment Technician in our Gary Plant which REQUIRES an Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) Wastewater Operator License Class C or higher classification.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • IDEM Wastewater Operator License (Class C or D)

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Must pass a pre-employment digital assessment.

  • Safety is #1 - Must be able to wear all Personal Protective Equipment as required which includes harnesses (work may be performed at heights requiring wearing of harnesses or climbing up/downstairs; ladders; etc.); protective clothing; hard hats; metatarsal boots; safety glasses; hearing protection; and, when necessary, respirator.

  • Must learn and will be required to work all positions in the department

  • Must be capable of working on elevated platforms

  • Must be capable of lifting 50 lbs.

  • Must be capable of operating mobile equipment.

  • Must be willing/able to work rotating shift work including weekends and holidays - this is a 365/7/24-hour operation - does not close - overtime work is required as needed and may be mandated

  • Punctuality, consistent attendance, and self-direction is required for the success of the operation
