The Opportunity

This position works out of our Irving, CA location in the EP division.

In Abbott’s Electrophysiology (EP) business, we’re advancing the treatment of heart disease through breakthrough medical technologies in atrial fibrillation, allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives.

What You’ll Work On

  • Respond timely to assembly line equipment and facility equipment repair calls, by diagnosing equipment problems, and performing the necessary repair.

  • Perform equipment maintenance and troubleshooting with utmost safety, following LOTO, machine guarding and other safety program requirements.

  • Document equipment qualifications and upgrades made to existing machines and systems, including preventative maintenance performed and parts used, to ensure appropriate documentation of repair history in INFOR EAM.

  • Maintain back-up equipment and ensures spare parts are maintained at the required levels, to meet manufacturing equipment and facility needs.

  • Organize and maintain spare parts inventory.

  • Assist manufacturing, and quality engineers in the operation and feedback on equipment issues and offers suggestions for improving equipment uptime

  • Assist in the construction of worktables, providing necessary utilities, and setting up of equipment on manufacturing assembly lines

  • Modify existing assembly lines or workstations as required to accommodate manufacturing demands

  • Initiate or maintain work schedule and establishes priorities of work assignments

  • Solve a wide range of complex problems requiring advanced interpretation of generally defined procedures and practices

  • Select methods and practices to obtain imaginative, thorough, and practical solutions to questions.

  • Maintain general knowledge of products/services associated with area and employees involved with specific product lines and services

  • Co-ordinate with calibration personnel of location of manufacturing equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Demonstrated experience with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting manufacturing and facility equipment.

  • 5+ years experience building and testing of electronic assemblies

  • Proficient computer and data analysis

  • Assists in the development, evaluation, or modification of all area-specific equipment, materials, systems, and/or product

  • Assignments require considerable judgment, initiative, creativity, and leadership in troubleshooting, suggesting alternatives, escalation communication and making recommendations for continuous quality improvement methods

  • Quality systems and data entry experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical device industry

  • Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing Environment

  • Trade certification / technical background desired but not essential

The base pay for this position is $24.35 – $48.65 per hour. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
