We Are Looking For

As the Senior Director of New Product Management (NPI) at Biosense Webster (BWI), you oversee the entire NPI manufacturing process, from developing manufacturing processes and equipment to establishing pilot manufacturing lines. This role is responsible for collaborating with R&D and Commercial team to develop strategies to effectively launch products through new process technologies solutions that enable compliance, scalability, and profitability. This role presents an exciting opportunity in innovation of early prototypes to market launch, ensuring regulatory compliance, promoting cross-functional collaboration, and driving continuous improvement to enhance product performance and profitability. This role ensures new products successfully integrate into the supply chain, supporting Biosense Webster's vast portfolio of over 5,000 SKUs, generating over $5 billion in revenue.

In addition to operational duties, strategic responsibilities such as determining product strategy, developing roadmaps, and managing stakeholders, while delivering tangible business outcomes through product solutions that address market demands aligned to our company objectives.

The position reports to the VP of Global Tech Ops NPI and LCM BWI.

Key Objectives and Responsibilities

1. Strategic Vision and Leadership - Assess future needs and develop and deploy a technical, talent and business strategy to address those needs. Provide key Process Engineering capabilities to support manufacturing for all internal and external manufacturing sites.

2. New Product Introductions – Drive partnership with commercial and R&D to take customer insights and develop them into new product concepts. And taking these concepts, optimizing the product and process design, and launching with a focus on Supply Chain readiness, timeliness, scalability, stability, and optimal cost of goods.

3. Project Management - Ensure excellence in scaling up NPI in the execution of projects and utilizing best practices from concept to introduction. As an E2E NPI leader in Supply Chain scout, select, and implement Advanced Capabilities (automation, process engineering, digital, and etc.) to support future growth and successful ramp up of NPI.

4. Operations and Engineering Management - Partner with manufacturing sites and R&D to develop process instruction, oversee technical standards and best practices.

5. People development – develop key technical and managerial leaders for the BWI Supply Chain business. (Identify, build, reinforce and retain critical technical capabilities and a pipeline of technical leaders leveraged across the E2E, as well as provide opportunities for development)

6. Cost Quality – meet required GP and critical to quality elements for all NPI/NPD

7. Member of the BWI SC Global Technical Operations leadership team , reporting into the VP of Global Tech Ops NPI and LCM BWI. Accountable to maintain seamless collaboration within SC and across the functions that support BWI/CSS. Expected to collaborate, share, and learn best practices from within J&J Med and through expert communities and academia.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline in engineering or technical field

• 10 years of business experience in engineering or R&D

• 7 years management responsibilities

• 5 years with multiple, business-critical, project mgmt. experiences

• New product development expertise, full cycle

• Manufacturing experience (accountable for manufacturing or equivalent experience) Solid business acumen skills, including business case development

• Experience in leveraging business excellence and lean; as well as automation and innovative technologies deployment Experience presenting to senior management-boards

• Demonstrates credo-based leadership, big-picture thinking, customer focus, diligence, confidentiality, and accuracy and sound judgment in delivering project outcome

• Strong business acumen, Demonstrated Technical Leadership skills, Judgment & decision-making skills Excellent verbal/written communication and collaboration skills, and proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organization

• Organizing & planning Interpersonal relationship & influence; ability to balance schedule, cost & quality, teamwork, Managing & developing others

• Proven history working in a constantly changing environment with excellent problem analysis and resolutions

• Proven history in successful organizational and people development with large and complex organizations

• Strategic planning/portfolio management

• 30 percent travel domestic and international (including weekends)

Preferred

• MBA or an MS

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline in electrical or mechanical

• ASQ certifications

• PMP certification

• LEAN Mfg.

• Bilingual (English/Spanish)

• 10 years in Medical Device or related business

• 10 years of direct technical service &/or Engineering support to manufacturing

• Proven record of strategic Supply Chain leadership of multiple operations or businesses
