Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson’s MedTech (JJMT) Electrophysiology Group is recruiting for a Senior Marketing Manager to join its Global Strategic Marketing team in Irvine, California.

Atrial fibrillation (AFIB) is a quivering or irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia) that can lead to blood clots, stroke, heart failure and other heart-related complications. More than 50 million worldwide suffer from AFIB each year. JJMT is the global leader in the science of diagnosing and treating heart rhythm disorders and is committed to changing the trajectory of AFIB healthcare. The company established its leadership in electrophysiology through ground-breaking innovation of the first real-time, 3D cardiac mapping and navigation technology, as well as the first electrophysiology catheter! The introduction of the company’s CARTO® 3 System in 2009 revolutionized 3D mapping technology by growing the accuracy, speed, and efficiency of the cardiac ablation procedure.

The Marketing Manager position has a large impact on the organization and will demonstrate success by taking strong interest in their portfolio and how they are used, becoming true subject matter authorities and leaders in JJMT. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you will:

  • Shape strategy for therapeutic capital equipment portfolio, including Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) and radiofrequency (RF) ablation generators, pumps and accessories.

  • Develop value proposition (positioning, price and promotion) for new product/solution introductions, as well as formulate clinical claims development for new products, working with medical science and clinical specialists

  • Deliver product training at global launch training programs and ensure product knowledge is effectively transferred to commercial regional groups and field organizations

  • Ensure business continuity through demand planning and forecasting activities, and ownership of communication business progress or opportunities with senior management

  • Formulate pipeline recommendations and priorities while leading strategy and business plans including support to all business development related opportunities.

  • Drive the cross-functional and cross-organizational delivery of the strategy and global product portfolio marketing plans, including value propositions, positioning, segmentation and pricing.

  • Work closely with sales, marketing and innovation talent to understand, anticipate customer needs through analyzing global market trends to identify new product opportunities

  • Analyze and present appropriate opportunities through portfolio review to the global management board

  • Shape strategy for therapeutic capital equipment portfolio, including Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) and radiofrequency (RF) ablation generators, and accessories.

  • Lead marketing for the new product developments, including global introduction of new projects.

  • Drive launch strategy and launch execution in coordination with commercial marketing and field sales.

  • Ensure technology knowledge is effectively transferred from product development teams to education, commercial marketing and field sales organizations.

  • Work in coordination with commercial marketing groups to ensure adequate business planning and forecasting.

  • Drive new product development strategy and execution in coordination with international teams.

  • Lead development of labeling (directions for use), as well as marketing and sales collateral (brochures, installation guides, training materials).

  • Work with disposable and SW project leader to identify interdependencies and support ecosystems.

  • Co-lead HW maintenance and service strategy with Tech Service Organization

  • Works with R&D, Quality and Tech Service to monitor and solve generator related complaints.

  • Ensures product knowledge is effectively transferred from R&D to commercial organizations.

  • Support pre-clinical labs for NPIs supported by new generators.

  • Build and deliver launch deliverables in stage gates and report out to senior management.

  • Support field with first cases or any customer requests.

  • Put pricing strategy for NPI as well as phasing out for old HW systems.

  • Lead US Manufacturing project for nGEN, dongle and TP-CIU

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering or related field required. Advanced degree (e.g., M.B.A.) is highly preferred.

  • 8+ years of related business experience or 6+ years with MBA or PhD.

  • Previous experience in Medical Device or healthcare environment, with proven ability to learn complex technology and clinical applications is required.

  • Experience developing and launching new products is required. The successful candidate will collaborate with US sales and OUS commercial organizations to execute plans and successfully launch programs and products.

  • Experience in strategic marketing is strongly preferred.

  • Previous experience in Healthcare Hardware Portfolio is highly preferred.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong financial acumen.

  • Demonstrated success working in a collaborative environment.

  • Worldwide or international experience preferred.

  • 30% travel including weekends (domestic and international).

  • Proven behaviors as a strong partner and team player, especially with functions including global education, R&D, commercial field leadership, regulatory affairs, clinical affairs and operations/planning/manufacturing.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $120,000 to $207,000. For the California Bay area, the base pay range is $138,000 to $238,050

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
