Caterpillar’s Retail Electric Power Solutions (REPS) provides exciting opportunities for accountants who want to be challenged and are interested in being directly involved with product business decisions. In this role you will provide critical support for Energy Transition Commercial Solutions (ETCS) team. ETCS combines an industry-leading technology platform with expert insights, managed service, cutting-edge technology to significantly enhance the operational and economic opportunities of distributed generation and storage assets. The holistic energy market expertise provided by ETCS makes distributed energy resource (DER) asset management easier and more profitable.
What You Will Do:
Be able to develop financial models and business strategies to meet customer energy goals, while determining the economic returns for Caterpillar, business partners, and customers.
Understand Distributed Energy Resource economics, Power Purchase Agreements, Energy project funding mechanisms, and contract negotiation and risk assessment
Determining proper accounting treatment for new and existing transactions related to deals
Partnering with the ETCS team to help them with their business needs
Responsible for reporting and analysis of monthly closing, forecasting, and annual business plan
What You Have:

Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; capacity to determine root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions to resolve those problems
Manage Multiple Priorities: Manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation
Decision Making: Capable of accurately analyzing situations and reaching productive decisions based on informed judgment
Financial Planning & Analysis: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools for financial reporting; ability to apply finance knowledge appropriately to diverse situations as well as read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material
Top C andidates Will Have:
Accounting or Finance degree or equivalent
Cash flow modeling experience
Additional Info:
This position will be located in our Mossville, IL or Dallas, TX office
This role is a full time, Hybrid position and currently requires 3 days a week in office
