Caterpillar Defense is seeking an Accounting Associate located in Dallas, Texas . In this role, you will perform various clerical and routine accounting tasks in support of an operating unit. Minimum 2 years of experience with government contract invoicing with any government approve accounting system.

What You Will Do:

• Responding to inquiries and contacting other departments or vendors to resolve a variety of problems.

• Preparing/posting entries, verifying and reconciling input to financial reporting systems.

• Upon request, take part in special projects and ad hoc reporting requests.

• Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP.

Accounting: Level Basic Understanding : Knowledge of accounting methods, processes, and tools; ability to maintain and prepare financial statements and reports using accounting methods and processes.

• Lists the major responsibilities of the accounting staff.

• Explains the basic concepts and terminology of accounting.

• Describes key activities of established accounting processes.

• Identifies the basic tools used for maintaining accounting information.

Degree Requirement:

Degree or equivalent experience desired

Top Candidate Will Have:

• Experience submitting invoices on customer systems such as Wide Area Workflow (WAWF), Invoice Processing Platform (IPP), Procurement Office Electronic Commerce (MPO) or other government invoice processing system.

• Understanding of Firm Fixed Price, Time & Materials and Cost-Plus billing.

• Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.

• Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.

• Professional proficiency in English is required.

• Ability to pass a federal background investigation including fingerprinting.
