Caterpillar, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director Corporate Accounting to join our team in Irving, Texas. This leadership role involves overseeing a team responsible for the consolidated balance sheet, cashflow statement, inventory reporting (including the elimination of unrealized profit), warranty reserve, and the corporate post-sale credit process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting, exceptional leadership abilities, and a strategic mindset.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead and manage a team responsible for the preparation and consolidation of the company’s balance sheet and cashflow statement.

  • Oversee inventory reporting processes, ensuring accurate elimination of unrealized profit.

  • Manage the warranty reserve accounting, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.

  • Supervise the corporate post-sale credit process, including policy development, monitoring, and reporting.

  • Ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timely delivery of financial reports and statements.

  • Provide strategic direction and guidance to the team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support for financial reporting and inventory management activities.

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial operations.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in financial reporting and accounting.

  • Present financial findings and reports to senior management, offering insights and recommendations for decision-making.

What You Will Have:

  • Finance and Accounting: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred.

  • Leadership: Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

  • Financial Analysis: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

  • Business Acumen: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Finance and Accounting: Proficiency in financial software and systems, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Professional Certification (Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or equivalent)

  • Prior experience in Public Accounting (Big 4 a significant plus)

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, inventory management, and corporate finance.

  • Proven experience in managing consolidated financial statements and cashflow reporting.

  • Knowledge of the Caterpillar organization, its products, policies and procedures.

Additional Info:

  • Location: Irving, TX

  • Hybrid (minimum 3 days/week in the office)

  • Less than 10% travel is expected.
