The Opportunity:
The Services Distribution & Digital (SD&D) GCIO IT organization currently has an opening for an IT Engagement Management Liaison, partnering with SD&D business units. This group is responsible for helping business units deliver on their strategic commitments and end-customer goals. As part of the GCIO organization, the selected candidate will have an opportunity to work directly with global business partners supporting Caterpillar aftermarket and services lines of business. As a liaison for these business units into Caterpillar IT, the individual selected will instill a good customer experience, bringing efficiencies to execute tasks in an accelerated, cost effective and quality manner.
What You Will Do:
IT Liaison for the business units to Caterpillar IT
Demand Management Execution with the Caterpillar IT service delivery teams
Reporting and guidance for application spend and cost management, and retirement.
Assistance and escalation of issues and requests to Caterpillar IT teams
Monthly Caterpillar IT Bill-of-IT Financial Reviews
Monthly and YTD Core Consumption Spend; Forecast Updates
Cloud spend and forecast updates
Scheduled Core Spend True-Up Reviews
Monthly and YTD BU Pull; Forecast Updates
Software Asset Management (SAM) Coordination
Ad-Hoc Projects/Programs to support IT initiatives impacting SD&D BUs
Act as trusted IT advisor to business units, orchestrating appropriate Caterpillar IT resources to deliver value-add solutions to the business as well as solve IT related problems
The individual will be representing the SD&D GCIO IT organization. Significant coordination with enterprise IT organizations (Caterpillar IT, Segment IT organizations – CI, E&T, RI) will be required.
What You Have:

Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients, vendors, and peers.Level Working Knowledge:
Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
Top Candidate Will Also Have:
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field or 5+ years of software development or project management experience
Extensive knowledge of Caterpillar business and processes, a comprehensive understanding of the IT organization(s), and experience with the procedures/processes associated with delivering robust technical solutions achieving expected business outcomes.
Strong program/project management, communication, analytical and organizational leadership skills. Experience leading and facilitating multiple complex tasks that involve cross-functional teams comprised of IT staff and business unit personnel.
Experience developing budget/expense management updates, forecast projections, and facilitating stakeholder and sponsor updates.
