The Opportunity

Our location in Irving, TX currently has an opportunity for a Principal Software Engineer. The Principal Software Engineer will be responsible in applying advanced engineering knowledge to complete complex assignments, who leads software architecture and the design of subsystems and contributes to the development of new principles and concepts.

What You’ll Work On

• Demonstrates expert knowledge and proficiency in the complete software development process; leads and is accountable for the software architecture and interfaces for all features of a subsystem.

• Defines software design architecture for a subsystem, identifying features, components and their internal and external interactions.

• Defines system level design and technology specific implementation patterns drawing upon industry best practices.

• Defines third party software component/integration strategy.

• Defines design patterns, coding styles, software development environment, unit testing environment, integration testing environment and performance testing environment for all features in a subsystem.

• Defines the future state roadmap of CI/CD, third party component management, and cybersecurity design for a subsystem.

• Defines system wide architecture for CI/CD, deployment, networking, and security.

• Collaborates in the architecture definition for test automation, hardware and external interface simulation.

• Defines system wide hardware and external interface simulation architecture.

• Provides overall technical leadership support in use case analysis, feature definition, user needs and functional and nonfunctional requirements.

• Defines comprehensive software design architecture for a subsystem.

• Author’s architecture description document, and high- level design documents.

Required Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or closely related STEM field

• Minimum 10 years of related experience.

• Master’s degree with minimum of 8 years of experience.

• Demonstrated ability in providing guidance to junior team members.

• Experience in Multithreaded applications, low level control of robots.

• Expert knowledge in modern programming languages such as C/C++ and agile methodologies.

• Expert level of understanding of test-driven methodologies.

• Expert level of knowledge with continuous integration & continuous development (CI/CD).

• Demonstrated success in technical proficiency, creativity, and independent thought.

• Expert experience in designing and developing complex software systems.

• Expert level understanding of design patterns

• Advanced ability to develop & design at the feature-level.

• Leads the technical excellence of the system and creates plans to mitigate outages.

• Experience in Embedded Development

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong data analytical & problem-solving skills

• Ability to plan and manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Evolves the architecture to support future requirements and defines its service level agreements (SLAs)

• Demonstrated ability to efficiently communicate technical topics to all levels within their team

The base pay for this position is $111,300.00 – $222,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
