Job Summary:

Caterpillar’s Electric Power Division has an opening for a Strategy Manager. As a Strategy Manager, you will lead one or more growth initiatives to understand, analyze, develop and recommend Strategy & Planning (S&P) solutions as a divisional lead or for a business segment.

What you will do:

  • Lead cross-functional strategic projects with business partners across the organization to accelerate long-term growth initiatives.

  • Effectively communicate insights and recommendations across the organization as needed.

  • Manage and oversee investment activities including acquisitions, venture capital investment and commercial partnerships. This might include supporting due-diligence, negotiation and integration activities.

  • Manage and continuously monitor organic and inorganic projects funnel across EPD.

  • Gather information and assess the market including competitive issues, market dynamics, market service needs and provide insights to EPD and E&T leadership as appropriate.

  • Coaches junior team members and assists with key staff recruiting.

  • Synthesizes large and complex concepts and provide insights to project teams and senior leaders.

  • Makes sound business decisions on behalf of the group when faced with complex and contradictory alternatives.

  • Interprets available data and analyses when creating business plans.

  • Recommends ways to position the organization for long-term competitiveness.

  • Relationship Management : Knowledge of relationship and stakeholder management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with various stakeholders including senior leaders, peers within EPD and across Caterpillar, vendors and investment banks.Level Extensive Experience:

  • Communicates to stakeholders regarding expectations of all parties.

  • Maintains productive, long-term relationships with stakeholders or vendors.

  • Empowers others to establish collaborative, healthy relationships.

  • Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources in an objective manner to reach a conclusion, goal, or judgment.Level Extensive Experience:

  • Leverages external and internal databases to drive insights to the business

  • Documents sources and validates the accuracy of data analysis by evaluating the pros and cons of data analysis methods used.

  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.

  • Level Extensive Experience:

  • Evaluates past decisions for insights to improve decision-making process.

  • Assesses and validates decision options and points and predicts their potential impact.

  • Advises others in analyzing and synthesizing relevant data and assessing alternatives.

  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • Level Extensive Experience:

  • Ability to communicate complex concepts to various audiences

  • Adapts documents and presentations for the intended audience.

  • Demonstrates both empathy and assertiveness when communicating a need or defending a position.

Degree Requirement:

  • Degree or equivalent experience desired.

  • Master's in Business or Engineering Management preferred.

Additional Information:

  • This position is located in Irving, TX.

  • Domestic travel up to 25% & minimal international travel is required.

  • Domestic relocation assistance is offered for this position.

  • Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.

  • This position is currently a hybrid in-office work model, requiring a 3-day weekly office presence onsite at our TX-Dallas-Williams Square-Corporate Headquarters and remote work for the remaining days. However, work arrangements may be adjusted at any time based on business needs.

Summary Pay Range:

$156,000.00 - $234,000.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
