The Role at a Glance

As a Kubernetes/Docker Infrastructure Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to design, implement, and maintain the infrastructure that supports containerized applications within a Kubernetes/Docker Swarm environment. You will work closely with development and operations teams to ensure the smooth deployment, scalability, and availability of containerized applications on Kubernetes/Docker Swarm clusters.

What you'll be doing

• Leads research, design, architecture and implementation of enterprise services on Docker platform utilizing orchestration technologies such as Swarm or Kubernetes

• Kubernetes Cluster Management: Build, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters, including provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.

• Infrastructure Design: Collaborate with architecture and development teams to design and implement infrastructure solutions that meet scalability, security, and performance requirements.

• Containerization: Package applications into containerized images and ensure compatibility with Kubernetes orchestration.

• Deployment and Configuration: Deploy, manage, and scale applications using Kubernetes deployment tools and configuration management frameworks (e.g., Helm, Ansible).

• Monitoring and Logging: Implement monitoring and logging solutions to gain visibility into the performance and health of the Kubernetes environment and its applications.

• Infrastructure Automation: Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Kubernetes/Docker Swarm infrastructure.

• Security and Compliance: Implement security measures, access controls, and best practices to protect Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

• Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve issues related to the Kubernetes infrastructure, including networking, storage, and application deployment.

• Collaboration and Documentation: Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide guidance, documentation, and training on Kubernetes best practices and usage.

• Stay Up-to-Date: Keep abreast of the latest trends and advancements in Kubernetes and containerization technologies, and evaluate their potential benefits for the organization.

What we’re looking for

• 5 - 7+ Years’ experience in system design/architecture that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position. (Required)

• 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor’s) in Information Technology or related field (Minimum Required)

• Strong experience in designing, deploying, and managing Kubernetes clusters in production

Pay Range: $102,301 - $184,500

Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role. The base pay is just one component of Lincoln’s total rewards package for employees. In addition, the role may be eligible for the Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on the performance of the company, business unit and individual. Other rewards may include long-term incentives, sales incentives and Lincoln’s standard benefits package.
