BAE Systems Principal Import Export Analyst in Jacksonville, Florida

Job Description

This position provides functional management of the Import/Export function supporting the Ship Repair business unit reporting to the Sector Export Director (SED) to ensure compliance with all U.S. export laws and regulations.

Ship Repair is a leading U.S. ship repair, modernization, and overhaul company and has full-service shipyards strategically located on the east and west coasts with facilities in Jacksonville, Florida; Norfolk, Virginia; and San Diego, California. This position will be based in Jacksonville and will have responsibility for Norfolk and San Diego.

As a Principal Import Export Analyst you will;

  • Comprehends and applies U.S. Import/Export Regulations (International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR)), and company import/export policies and procedures. Assists company personnel on import/export-related questions. Maintains and increases knowledge by attending relevant seminars and training, and through self-study.

  • Manages trade compliance practices related to document review, public release processes, review of international purchase orders, international shipments, foreign visits, and international travel requests for the business.

  • Under direction from leadership, provides strategy, planning and execution for import/export plans related to market creation, bids and proposals, contracts, operations, procurement, security, communications, transportation, and related functions.

  • Reviews, drafts, and manages export and import authorizations obtained from the Department of State and Department of Commerce and provides oversight for AES filings with Census Bureau.

  • Assists, prepares for, and participates in company, internal, external and government audits.

  • Ensures compliance with recordkeeping and data management legal requirements.

  • Assists with internal investigations under direction of the SED and assists with the preparation of disclosures.

  • Supports implementation of export awareness training and specialized functional training across the business.

  • Supports creation and management of processes, procedures, and work instructions under the direction of the SED.

  • Maintains a safe work environment and ensure compliance with safety objectives and company policies.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.

  • Travel up to 25%

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor s Degree in a relevant discipline and 6 years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience interpreting and applying the ITAR and EAR and other laws and regulations governing international trade.

  • Excellent computer skills including all Microsoft office applications.

  • Strong planning, time management, and organizational skills with demonstrated experience managing multiple deadlines supporting regulatory requirements and business objectives.

  • Make decisions using sound judgement while complying with policies, procedures, appropriate principles, and applicable state and federal laws and regulations.

  • Sound oral and written communication experience, strong relationship-building skills, analytical thinking, and ability.

  • Exercise discretion and independent judgement in the performance of duties and tasks assigned.

  • Knowledge of how to work independently and to operate effectively without direct supervision.

  • Ability to support a business across multiple geographic sites.

  • Attention to detail is a must.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $87700 - $149100

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
