JJVC is recruiting rising juniors, and seniors, as well as graduate students, for internships and co-ops in the MAKE Engineering Division located in Jacksonville, Florida.
ACADEMIC MAJORS FOR INTERNSHIP/CO-OP OPPORTUNITIES IN ARE:
Engineering: Systems, Aerospace, Biomedical, Computer Science, Electrical, Mechatronics
Informatics and/or Data Science
Technical Design: Industrial Design/Product Design
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The 2025 Johnson & Johnson Vision Care MAKE Automation & Controls Co-op Program will assist and contribute to assigned team for duration of temporary internship/co-op.
Receives guidance, training, and mentoring from colleagues in planning and carrying out activities and assignments in the areas of:
Process Flow Development
Visualization improvements via Human Machine Interfaces
Controls Networking
Data Analytics
Querying / Database improvements
New Products Introduction
Main duties and responsibilities vary based on projects and may include:
Support Automation & Controls activities for new products introduction and process flow development and improvements with a focus on enhancing productivity.
Planning, research, design, and development of Visualization solutions in support of Manufacturing of Contact Lenses
Data Analytics Systems
Process Controls and Safety networks.
A successful candidate will be able to do the following:
Students must be able to provide their own transportation to Jacksonville and to/from work every day. A housing stipend may be offered to students that meet distance eligibility requirements.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1-B status) now or in the future.
Candidates must be able to work full-time (40 hrs/week) with reliable transportation to and from work.
Candidates should demonstrate strong leadership and a clear identifiable work ethics within their team.
Candidates must adhere to safety and environmental policies and procedures and support department objectives.
Candidates must demonstrate and maintain behavioral standards in line with company standards and policy.
Actively pursuing, at a minimum, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Informatics/Data Science, or a related academic field. Graduate studies in any of such disciplines is preferred.
Detail-oriented, skilled in communication and influencing others, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and assignments.
Able to work well both individually and as part of a collaborative team.
Enrollment (not necessarily taking classes) at an accredited college/university during the internship period is required.
A minimum G.P.A. of 3.0 is required.
Must be at least 18 years of age
Demonstrated leadership and/or participation in campus/community service activities is strongly preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Mid-level and High Level programming (e.g. LabView, C++, Python, ladder logic)
Proficiency in Data Analytics and Data Science is preferred
Proficiency on Process Flow Design and verification
