Job Purpose

We are seeking a motivated and tech-savvy IT Desktop Support Intern to join our team. As an IT Desktop Support Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in providing technical support and assistance to our employees. You will work closely with our IT Workplace Services department to troubleshoot hardware and software issues, install and configure new equipment, and ensure the complete operation of our company's desktop computers and peripherals.

  1. Education, Experience and/or Certification

Minimum education required of the position.

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related field

Minimum experience required of the position

  • Strong interest and aptitude in computer hardware, software, and troubleshooting

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Familiarity with common desktop operating systems and software applications

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies

  1. Responsibilities:
  • Provide first-line technical support and troubleshooting for desktop computers, laptops, printers, and other office equipment

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop software, including operating systems, productivity suites, and specialized applications

  • Assist with the setup and deployment of new computer hardware and peripherals

  • Perform basic maintenance tasks such as software updates, virus scans, and disk cleanups

  • Document technical issues and resolutions in the IT support ticketing system

  • Participate in IT projects and initiatives as needed

  • Provide excellent customer service and communication with end-users
